It seems like The Subways are trying to appeal to a wider audience with this album as it has a slightly softer, more commercial sound. It gets off to a brilliant start with "Girls and Boys" which has to be one of their best tracks but after that I find myself yearning for the more raucus sound of the first album. Good but not great.

Young for Eternity

I went to see them live in Falmouth, Cornwall before hearing them before hand, after watching the Mind-Blowing set I ordered the CD straight away and I can't wait for their second album. Personally They are so much better live and I think they should bring out a live DVD as they already have a live CD.

A must have for anyone who's into a plate of indie/alternative with a slice on rock on the side.

So much for second album syndorme.
It races out of the blocks, with the pounding Girls And Boys, and impressively keeps the pace up for the best part of the album. Single worthy Shake! Shake! is a fantastic track.
And songs like Move To Newyln and All Or Nothing allow you to temporarily catch your breath before the stomping Turnaround.
The album is littered with huge festival sized tunes, and wonderful acoustic numbers.

The Subways have managed to improve every aspect of their debut album. The lyrics are stronger, the music is tighter and it proves almost impossibe to pick out a favourite track.

The DVD/Enhanced version of the album is defintely worth the extra couple of pennies.

This is my favorite UK punk band from 70's.
They never release their punk LP in punk era.
(What's the matter boy? LP is pop album ,I think.)
Wow!! I'm so surprised to hear this 70's punk sound with original artist in nowaday.
My favorite songs are " Stayin' out of touch " " Stool pigeon "
" Derail your senses " & "Stand back" they 're stuck in my mind.
Vic's unique voice & original sound of the Sect in '1978 NOW' can make you cry!!!

The Subways have got to be one of the most promising bands of 2005. This is a great single and was actually the first song the band wrote; gotta say, if i could write a song like that on my first attempt, i'd be pretty damn proud!

Read Jon Savage's 'England's Dreaming' and get a whole new perspective on the importance of the new wave of 77, and similarly a new perspective on the relevance of Subway Sect to those times. This is one of the best single releases of the last fifty years: I stand by that view.
