I have always respected the Zutons for doing their own thing and not being scenesters. And let's face it, how many modern indie guitar bands feature a saxophone player? My favourites on this are: 'Dirty Rat', 'What's Your Problem' and the first single off it 'Always Right Behind You'. But it's all good stuff!
Some have said that the band's music features too much saxophone. I have even heard it said that the Zutons would be better off without any sax. Personally I think it adds to their quirky charm and that they would be a lot duller without it. And who wouldn't want Abi Harding in their band?

It's quite a task trying to pigeon hole Zutons music. As a Britpop junkie, I can't say who they sound like, I'm guessing the influences are older than I am. I describe it as "spiky" or "edgy". If it's not too pretentious, the music seems to have a lot of sharp edges and funny angles, and having a single saxophone gives this album an individual quality.
Favourites for me are Zuton Fever and Don't Ever Think Too Much, but the whole album is something to savour.
