The kids love it, we love it. Full of silly sing-a-long tunes that stick in your head and after only a few listens the kids knew all the words. The kids are in question are home-educated boys aged 6 and 5. Very educational!!!!!!!!!!! DVD brilliant too.

Warning: It is very AMERICAN, which can be mildly grating after lots of listens but this is only a very minor irritation. (Sorry TMBG!, we do love you though :-))

by: They Might Be Giants

Release Date March 26, 1990
I remember hearing this album being played alot when i was very little. it stuck with me because i do remember randomly spouting out

THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS! BOOOY!

at random intervals throughout the years. its only been recently that i rekindled my love of this nutty band. (im 18 now) i have to say they are possibly my favourite band. i have pretty much all their albums on my computer now, but whenever my media player happens to randomly hop onto a song from flood, it just makes me smile. it does have some of the greatest songs on i think. though theirs loads of TMBG songs from all albums i love. but i think flood is just special to me.

If youre after an alternative/rock/pop type album, with a little more to ... Read More:

by: They Might Be Giants

Release Date March 03, 2008
Not since I discovered the Beatles at the age of 14 have I found a band whose music is as varied, exciting, whimsical, musical, and just plain wonderful as They Might Be Giants; and this Greatest Hits compilation shows their range and versatility.

The more well-known tracks like Birdhouse in Your Soul and Boss of Me are, of course, a delight. But there's a lot more here, a series of portraits of the many musical faces of TMBG. The children's songs Why Does the Sun Shine? and No! sit next to lyrical love songs like Bangs and They'll Need a Crane, while the verbal playfulness and mastery of language which pervades all their lyrics comes to the fore in I Palindrome I.

The musical styles represented here are as eclectic as their topics, ... Read More:

Dial-a-Song: 20 Years of They Might Be Giants

by: They Might Be Giants

Release Date October 07, 2002
I do not own many albums where every single song is a favourite but this album is one of the few.

They Might Be Giants are geniuses- beautiful vocals, meaningful lyrics, great tunes. This album always leaves me in a great mood and I can't help but sing along to great tracks such as Birdhouse in your Soul, Ana Ng, Dr Worm, Istanbul... actually I could go on but I'd end up naming the entire 2 disk album!

I think anyone who really likes music and has an open mind should listen to this album- you will be impressed.

I'm a massive fan of this band, but I have to be honest - this is appalling. After the pleasant surprise that was Mink Car I was expecting another top album. Sadly not. Not a decent tune in sight. I hope they get back to form on the next one. If not then it's probably time to call it a day.

by: They Might Be Giants

Release Date October 31, 2000
This is basically They Might Be Giants "GREATEST HITS LIVE" album except they're not a band who would give an album such as obvious title as 'greatest hits'.

So you get the tracks that got some UK airplay "Birdhouse In Your Soul", "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)", along with tracks that UK listeners probably haven't heard yet unless they're already TMBG fans.

In the mid-90s TMBG developed from being a studio-based two-piece to being a full rocking live band, so the versions you get on here are full band arrangements, even for the older tracks, and very well arranged they are too.

They also stick to their more 'conventional' three-minute pop songs, and steer away from the more esoteric album tracks you get on their 'proper' albums- with ... Read More:

Release Date November 19, 2001
I ordered this album with some trepidation - I have been a fan for eons (before even Flood and Birdhouse), but to be honest the last few albums have disappointed. And then "Man It's So Loud in Here Started"....and I thought "Oh my, this is terrible". And then I heard it again and again - and it is now one of my favourite songs ever - a wonderful witty eurodisco masterpiece. The rest of the album is pretty good - certainly their best all round album since "Flood". However my Girlfriend hates it - but my 3 month old Daughter loves it - be warned!!

by: They Might Be Giants

Release Date October 07, 2002
For my money, this is best TMBG album. The amount of variety on here is amazing, ranging from punk through to jazz via Latin America. The songs are tuneful (even if the singing is a bit dodgy at times) and the lyrics are hilarious (now you're the only one here who can tell me if it's true. That you love me and I love me) yet often quite touching (a woman's voice on the radio can convince you you're in love. A woman's voice on the telephone can convince you you're alone). The arrangements are magnificent too, mainly lots of crunchy guitar, accordion and drum machine but some tracks have neither of these instruments (Shoehorn with teeth is played on Casio Midihorns and Kiss Me Son of God on a string quartet). Even the less good tracks (Purple Toupee, Santa's beard) are short so ... Read More:
