I put the cd on hoping for some ghostly echoes of Crystal Machine and New Jerusalem... But alas they weren't there! If you love those two albums, as I do, then don't buy this... It's quite awful! . Crystal Machineby: Tim Blake Release Date March 27, 2000 Originally released in 1977, this was Blake's first solo effort - perhaps his best. Some refer to 'Crystal Machine' as -the good spacey synth one-. Enjoyed checking out the opener "Midnight" and "Metro / Logic". Seem to notice plenty of synthesizer, moogs and oscillators at work. The eight-minute "Last Ride Of The Boogie Child" is probably the disc's best track. It was recorded live at the 1976 Free Seasalter Festival. Showcases some of Blake's decent vocals. Another live cut if the fifteen-minute "Synthese Intemporel". Nice CD reissue of a somewhat hypnotic gem. Great cover as well. |

Last act with sphere hanging over head with a search light hitting it 'like a lighthouse?' Well worth the £5.50p for 3 days I think. Bought this album on vinyl on the Tuesday a wore it out by the end of the year, and my tape by the middle of he following year. Surely it cant be that rare nowadays to warrent £45 but from a nostalgic point of view, what the hey. Probably only of some interest to people from the time but a little bit of quiet, sensual, very easy and laid back (or laid out dependant upon your mood) music. Historic listening. |
