This CD was issued to accompany the tour of English Cathedrals and Abbeys by the ensemble. The CD is superbly recorded to capture echoes and the placing of groups of instruments round the churches. It needs repeated listening as it is not easy listening by any means. The appearance of a well-known Bach theme is a wonderful moment; truly spine tingling

WHAT CAN I SAY! about this band? They are quite simply the new Busted. Move over McFly, Acoustic Triangle are the new kids in town. I am a close personal friend of Gwilym Simcock (having gone to school with him for for the best years of my life). However he kicked me out of acoustic triangle because "the bands musical direction doesn't need a drummer" Everyone needs a drummer!!!! The only flaw in this album is the lack of a good solid drum beat. Just look at me, now-touring with my band The Rotten Tomatoes. Watch out acoustic triangle we want to steal your saxophonist Tim Garland for his amazing melodies carry this album especially on tracks such as Solo Piano Interlude, From the Land and Ritual. Made By Walking

This album is excellent. Having heard Garland live I know first hand what an excellent musician he is and this album is hopefully one of many more to come. I find the music very exciting especially when Garland shows off how fast he can play! The music is the sort of jazz one would sit down and listen to but some tracks are possible for background music. But this CD is not leaving my stereo for a long time that's for sure!

If the Sea Replied

I once talked to the sea....the cool ocean breeze whispered "Purchase this Tim Garland album from AMAZON for only £11.98". So i sprinted to the nearest computer, whipped out my credit card, and they told me they were out of stock - so I waited for 4 weeks, then placed my order - they told me I'd receive it in 3-5 days. And I received it in two. This is just an early indication of how brilliant this album is. Throw away all your other CDs, for this is the ONLY CD you will ever need.
This album is a concept album about a small dog, with a small dream. His dream was to talk to the sea, and he does so, magnificently on Track 4 (backed by some awesome basslines). Personally, I thought his task was insurmountable, but I was wrong. Tim Garland's positive ... Read More:

Catalyst

Thanks Acoustic Triangle for stealing our lead singer Gwilym...NOT...I'll be pressing charges at a later date....but in the meantime this is a fantastic album. Possibly based on the chemistry between myself and Gwilym, this self-proclaimed album is the best thing in my life since I captured Charmander on Pokemon Blue. As a former friend and bandmate of Gwilym, I must admit that this album is probobly the best ever made by a band with the ambition and sexual chemistry between the leading members sometimes making the hairs on the back of my neck itch with a warm sense of belonging. Change of Season

For anyone who may not have bought a CD by Tim Garland, this is as good a place to start as any. Released by John Priestley's world famous Sirocco Music Label (who have featured artists such as Joe Locke) the music is excellently composed and brilliantly edited. Even the CD and cover design are of exceptional quality.

Tim Garland's Change of Season is one of his best pieces of work to date. Having seen Tim live this CD is the next best thing to having him in your lounge blowing his horn in a way which only Tim can - with passion and skill.

Sea Changes

If you enjoy the lyricism of John MacLauchlin, Jan Garbarek or even Kenny Wheeler, then you must hear Lammas in their album "Sea Changes". It is truly jazz in the sense that the music most associated with those first three musicians is, but add to this echoes of gaelic folk and you will get some idea of the range and depth of musical style. Don Paterson (guitar) and Tim Garland (saxophones) lead while Christine Tobin (vocals) and Karen Street (accordeon) play supportive roles and sustain the folky theme.

An album of seriously good tunes that will make you want to get up and dance! Why not go ahead and do it - Mr Garland does on stage... This is a quality album by a great band - the pace varies from fantastic energetic tracks like 'Mr Magic' and 'Made by Walking' to beautiful slower melodies like 'Rosa Ballerina', written for his daughter I believe. Tim's 'little big band' is well worth seeing live, and this record gives a good idea of the energy they exude on stage.
Played on heavy rotation at work, I'm sure this record got me through a recent bout of flu much faster than would otherwise have been the case! Let Tim Garland cheer you up and make the world seem like a better place.
