1997? Could be 2001! Its only Ultra Nate's "Free" which shows the age of this mix, which is no great shame as it is still a great tune anyway. All the better for not hearing it for so long. Its no surprise that Todd Terry is known as "Todd the God", his mix is faultless, but lets get away from the nerdy technical side. Its the music that makes the DJ, not ability. And this collection is excellent. This stands out because it hasn't dated or aged. It could be a new collection out this week. This is a great CD which lends itself to listening to again and again. Yet equally at home turned up loud, while getting ready for the weekend. This is smooth, US house. Wicked vocals, funky dubs and bouncy beats. Buy it. Highly recommended.

Everyone has their own opinions on dance singles that really do it for them. For me, while I'm not sure when I first heard / realised how much I liked this tune, it just clicks like nothing else.
The vocals are incredible, sending shivers down my spine, while Todd Terry's hypnotic beats make this a must both on the dancefloor and in the gym. Best of all, there's a modesty to it - it's not some sort of 'shouty', hands in the air type song, just really really cool!

A snapshot in time of a once legend of the house music scene. This came out in the days when US DJs ruled our DJ booths, charged £40,000 for a 2 hour set, demanded business class flights and in the case of our Mr Todd Terry, even asked for the Hard Times DJ booth to be rebuilt in a location more suitable for his tastes. He did take the mick a bit back in those days, I've heard MANY a TT remix which has literally ripped the backing from another remix he's done and stuck a new vocal over the top of it. So why did we buy into all this? For all the micky taking, Todd The God would respond with lethal tracks such as the Fingertrips EP, Bounce To The Beat, Jumpin and Something Going On. These always came in a time when you'd just given up on the guy. Read More:
