This album is a pleasant surprise! Having spent many, many happy years listening to Travis on recording and live I thought that there time had been and gone but seems there is life in the old dogs yet!! Well, they are not that old but you get the drift. Each track is unmistakably Travis, mildly rocking and well written. There are no bad tracks but to be fair none that are outstanding either. My personal faves are "Friends", "Chinese Blues" and "J.Smith" and "Before You Were Young". All in it is Travis in more mature mode as you would expect. It is not "The Man Who" or "Good Feeling" as they were more of the moment if you like but it's a solid, enjoyable album that is not trying to be something it isn't! Worth buying for definite.

The latest studio-based offering from Travis (who seeing the fortunes of rivals Take That improve also decided to jump on the come-back band wagon)offers a few happy go lucky songs that are perfectly suitable to nodding your head or tapping your feet to, but after a while you do grow tired of it and none of the songs stand out. They should have called this 'The Album With No Name' as no one will remember it in 5 years time!

i bought this for my dad for christmas (not in a bad way!) and he's loving it. I bought it for him because i cant drive and if i have to be stuck in HIS car listening to HIS cds while he takes me somewhere then it's just excellent then we both get something to sing along to.

Music from the heart - somehting we hear little of these days. I guess thats why I love this album so much - each song is very meaningful, with excellent lyrics, and a good variety of sounds too, so it doesn't become bland and boring.
I've listened to alot of Travis, and is their is most mature album yet. Writing to reach you is an excellent way to start the album, and other brilliant songs include As you are, the feel good Driftwood (nice video too!) Why does it always rain on me, and Shes so strange.
A classic album not to be missed!

Invisible band is what I like about Travis so much, they produce music which is just honest and straight from the heart. This was my first music CD, which i got given as a present, and I instantly fell in love with it. Its got great catchy tunes and hooks, this is alternative rock at one of its best. Every track is much more human and in touch with emotion, compared to their contemporaries such as coldplay. If you like your music straight from the heart, with catchy guitar riffs then you will love Invisible band
Highlights...
Sing - Track 1
Side - Track 3
Pipe-Dreams - Track 4
Follow the Light - Track 8
Afterglow - Track 10
The Humpty Dumpty Love Song - track 12

This is a lovely, understated album. It is in the tradition of the Fripp / Eno Ambient music that we have been either loving or loathing for the past thirty odd years. There is a consistent sound throughout the album with Robert Fripp on guitar and Theo Travis on alto flute and soprano sax.
These are two towering talents enjoying playing with a mutual respect. I first really became aware of Theo Travis on the Soft Machine Legacy album Steam where he filled the shoes of the sadly departed Elton Dean in grand style. His solo album, to which Robert Fripp contributed production and some guitar, is excellent.

Bands who suddenly change their sound should be braced for a storm of controversy -- is their new sound good or terrible?
And Travis takes a sharp left turn in "12 Memories," a controversial evolution in the Brit-pop band's sound. It's more cynical, more sharply melancholy, more political, and experiments with their sound. While it may turn off people expecting a sunny listen, it makes up for its shortcomings with its beautiful writing and instrumentation.
"Take me away, take me away/You said that you were gonna stay/But you're always lying anyway," Fran Healy sings over a steady piano/guitar combo, sounding as cheerful as someone singing this anti-love song can. He talks casually about drinking, monotony, crazy lovers, and how "it's just ... Read More:

This is Randy Travis's first non christian album for quite a while. He has one of the most instantly recognisable voices in country music. Pure country. It has a sound much like the sound of his first few albums and this album like those has the same producer. There are no songs that instantly stand out such as 'On the other hand', 'Always & Forever' etc from his earlier albums but the songs are all of a consistently high standard, the highlights being 'Faith in You' and 'Everything I own has got a dent'. I am not sure I hear a hit single on this album but that does not detract from its quality. This is a good solid and enjoyable true country album. The sort of album that gets better which each listen. If you like Randy Travis or Merle Haggard, you will enjoy this. Great to ... Read More:
