With it's brilliant 80's style drumbeat, rock chords and cool songs, this is in the top 5 of my favourite albums. Dan Wilson and John Munson went on to form Semisonic in 1993/4 after Trip Shakespeare. Buy it now! |
. Across the Universe [VINYL]by: Trip Shakespeare Release Date March 19, 1990 This is one of the best Trip Shakespeare CDs. I was able to purchase it through the amazon marketplace. This album is the defining album of Trip's style and character, songs like Turtledove, Gone Gone Gone and Late demonstrate the skill and lyrical genius of the old quartet. With more songs sung by other members such as Dan Wilson and John Munson, unlike Applehead Man this album explores more areas of their musical experimentation. Finally the song Snow Days is a great song. Trip Shakespeare are one of the only bands I know which can fill my imagination with wonderful images with the words of their songs. |

They only made four albums, this being their swansong. Their harmonies, great songwriting, heavy guitar work and sense of humour make them one of my all-time favorites. Nearly every song on "Lulu" is good, a rarity these days. "Across The Universe" is also an excellent record. |
