Brilliant album. Some tracks slightly updated with new mix but all tracks excellent. Songs by the UB's with Freddie Macgregor, Mighty Diamonds, John Holt, Max Romeo and Toots are absolute killers!!
A must for reggae fans everywhere!!

This is probably the UB40 album I listen to most.

I remember buying this after school back in 1986. It didn't leave my record player for an entire month.

I'll never quite understand why UB40 are so hated nowadays. Apparently you can't be a real reggae band if
you're a bunch of white blokes from Birmingham. Apparently you're a sell-out if you record an album of covers.

Although I stopped listening as closely after Rat In The Kitchen, I still have an awful lot of respect for this lot. The have every right to still exist some 24 years after formation.

Rat In The Kitchen is a wonderful album.

UB40 have done it again in their series of cover albums. This one i have to say personally is the finest of the three. All of these tracks tracks featured are all songs that should of been massive hits in their day anyway, but at least the ub;s still maintain by recording these tracks which thankflly give them a new lease of life.. From the quirky Melodians b side "Its my delight" to the smooth Ken ooothe classic of "crying over you" You will sing these trcks in your head all day. John Holts "My best girl" gets top draw crooning from Mr Campbell. while track 15 anthem Leagalise it must get a live blasting every time they play.. all i can say is go out and buy it ,and i promise you youll end up singing along. cant ... Well you ask anyone if they knew UB40 had a new album out, did they know? 'cover up' is a return to form for UB40.Although Labour of love III had some nice tunes on it, it wasn't as good as the other two. Guns in the ghetto had some outstanding tunes but some very ordinary ones too.From the opening horns of Rudie, you settle back into your foot-tapping with expectancy and UB40 don't disappoint. Walk on me land is exceptional with great lyrics and belly busting bass in the dub version! Brian Travers, the saxaphonist excels himself with the lyrics to the title track Cover up,... I am presuming if your reading this you are a UB40 fan ? and might be contemplating buying this cd ? well if there is one UB40 cd to purchase in my opinion this is the one, an excellent live concert, performed by a band on top form, Classics like - One in Ten, Homely girl, Many Rivers to cross, Love it when you smile :-) Here i am , Cherry oh baby, Can't help falling in love + many more, The sound quality is first class, You also get the atmosphere from the crowd ? I also have the DVD of this concert and i cannot recommend the DVD & CD highly enough, This is Birmingham's pride & joy at there very best.....Go on treat yourself, You deserve it right :-)
