If you think about it, a soundtrack ought really to reflect and enhance the tone and texture of a movie. It shouldn't be about taking songs of the moment from bands of the moment. Too often that seems to be the case, and the soundtrack album lacks any form of unity or cohesion. It is often the case that the songs on the album never even featured in the movie. But not in this case, oh no!

I don't think I have ever encountered a movie and soundtrack which are so inseparable. Somehow atmospheric and sentimental, while menacing and industrial at the same time, the soundtrack almost eclipses the movie. It certainly encapsulates it. Hudson Hawk

Whilst Bruce does a lovely job as always, playing Hudson Hawk seemingly quite seriously, everyone else hams it up something rotten especially Richard E Grant & Sandra Bernhard. Sadly the two extremes don't mesh that well. Perhaps I'm old fashioned in feeling that people that get blown up or fall off tall buildings without a net should not get up and walk away.
Bruce has done so many better films avoid this if you can.

The Hunger

Not the sound track of the film as claimed , although it does have original excerpt's from schubert, bach (2) and delibes , the rest is just filler and an attempt to copy the film , the bauhous opener is completely missing which is a great shame. So 4 track's out of 11 worth listening too, even so i would not give this cd back as those 4 track's are beautifull.
