This album has has never been far away from my CD player since it was released around 23 years ago. The music surprised a lot of people at the time because it wasn't completely representative of the Abba style. In the theatre the music is completely overwhelming. I managed to see the production 3 times, twice with the original cast and that is why I would recommend this recording above all others. Some of the players are different but the American, Russian & Florence were as heard on the CD's. The Swedish touring version mentioned further down is excellent, in that it includes the ending as we knew it & other bits and pieces. Still vocally this is the superior version and no one has sung Florence better than Elaine Paige. A pity it wasn't ... Read More:

This is a wonderful album, full of vitality, energy and the sheer pleasure of the music. Baroque with a twist, it's "crossover" but without sounding like an unhappily arranged marriage; a perfect blend of old and new elements, with 17th century composition nestling comfortably alongside modern improvisation. The first track, Lucilla Galeazzi's Voglio una casa, sets the mood, and all that follows is an utter delight. Listen out especially for Lucas Ruiz de Ribayaz's Espanoletas.

This is likely to be music for everyone! Clubs were still safe places, music had variety, and songs some became household names. This is probably one of the best CD's released in a very long time, as all the family can listen to it. It's not often my parents by buy CD's these days, but my mum always has this on now! Long live the 80's!

Rough Guide have come up trumps with this wonderful sampler of bluegrass music. Characterised by the banjo, fiddle and mandolin, bluegrass' roots lie in 1930s and in the combination of many European and native American folk styles such as Irish, jazz, blues, East European polka and gospel. The CD contains famous artists such as the amazing Alison Krauss and Union Station, represented here by their classic track "Every Time You Say Goodbye", and older pioneers such as the Country Gentlemen, featuring the banjo ace Bill Emerson. Karaoke - Pop Divas

Having just bought a karaoke machine I wanted some discs to go in it. I bought this one and although the music is good there are no words on the screen they are in the book inside the cd case. A bit pointless for karaoke, especially when you have had a few drinks as you can't see the words as they are so little. I didn't realise I had to buy CDG cds.

I borrowed this from my son and I've listened to all types of music in my 50 years, But this album especially disc 1 is just brilliant.

If you dont like this,then yer dead.

Is it allowed for someone my age to like this? LOL :)
