3 CDs of absolute classic ska. With the sheer volume of tracks this set provides, its a bargain. This is the real deal.A good cross section of Jamaican ska, with some tracks better known than others (perhaps) but don't let that put you off. If you have only heard the tracks that have also appeared on other ska compilations & you liked them, then the rest of this collection is a must.
This is a really expansive collection of quality ska music & Trojan have done a great job in selecting the tracks for this set.If you enjoy this , then the Rude Boy box set is also worth a punt.

the ambition of most of these bands is quite breathtaking. it's a shame punk came along because it's totalitarian philosophy not only killed off the bad, but much of the good too. still at least john lydon admits he was a big prog fan now.

Having purchased the first CD in the series (now extended to three), I decided to try the second volume - and I have not been disappointed!

The standard has been maintained with some great artists and songs, all with strong guitar influences. Many were already well-known such as Bread's Guitar Man, The Cars' My Best Friends Girl and Cream's White Room but the more popular numbers have been interspersed with some arguably lesser known tracks such as Stony Road (Chris Rea), Don't Believe A Word (Gary Moore) and the impressive Whirlpools End from Paul Weller. Great, classic English songs that are fun to listen to even as an adult! They clearly have a lasting effect, seeing as I listened to these songs when I was 4 years old, and am now 18.

I would definitely recommend buying this.

The Hits of the 30's and 40's

This is the epitome of easy listening, as it evokes a time when everything was so less complicated. Some would say it tends towards the cheesy, but...bring it on.The songs remind me so much of when I was small and the radio was always on, and everyone sang along. so different from sitting glued to the TV today. This is a brilliant collection at a remarkable price.Some of the titles I was unfamiliar with, but all in all, a most welcome and enjoyable addition to my collection.
