This cd was purchased for my son, it very well maybe the worst cd I've come across for children, starting with "Jake the Peg" by Rolf Harris, apparently Jake the peg had three legs, and when he was a baby his father found it difficult to put his nappy on... No I'm not joking this is on the first track of the cd! This cd struck me as more of an adult comedy skit, Im trying in some way to end on a positive note...

I purchased Pop Jnr 2 for my nine year old, she had loved original Pop Jnr but I have found my 6 year old loves it more. Some of the tracks are more for the under 9s. There is a good variety, most of which you find yourself singing along to. The DVD is great to watch as the kids see all their favourites on the screen and sing and dance along with them. It really is one that all the kids will enjoy. When it goes on in my house even my 2 year old is hooked. Also great when they have their friends round.

The annual globe-hopping compilation from writer and broadcaster Charlie Gillett is a showcase for both headline stars and obscure gems. It's no surprise, then, to find tracks from stars like Toumani Diabaté, Orchestre Baobab, Israels Yasmin Levy or Uzbek diva Sevara Nazarkhan, but the oddities are often as arresting. Here's a reggaematic Romanian love song from Germany and the yearning tones of Australia-based Tartar singer Zulya. Beautifully sequenced, the 34 tracks from 28 countries make clear that the world's music (not world music) is increasingly hybridised and perennially fascinating.

This arrived today, and I was delighted to see that it's now a double album. Thirty-four tracks of rocking guilty pleasures - sneak off somewhere with your ipod where your mates will never see you getting all emotional to Styx, Journey et al.
Not sure why Whitesnake or Billy Idol appear, but who cares?
