How do Disney do it. They seem to have that magic touch with everything they do and this album is no exception. Although my son is only quite young he still loves this album every time I put it on and I have to admit that so do I.
If you have seen any of the films (which I imagine is most of you) then you have to get this album. Time and time again you will be whisked away back to the wonderful world of Disney films and animation. Okay I am rambling but it is a very good album. 5 stars!!!

Yep. Track 21 (The World is Not Enough) is performed by someone called Garbage and talk about living up to one's name... How did someone who has no voice wind up singing a Bond song? *shakes head in disbelief* Actually, after kd lang's sublime performance of Surrender, the rest of the CD is not worth listening to. Before that, however, it's a lovely trip down memory lane listening to good sings sung by singers who can, well, sing.....

... a return to form for Hed Kandi... I don't know who is responsible for the A&R and mixing of this product but the quality has definitely been ramped up over recent Kandi releases. As another reviewer mentioned, this album doesn't take itself too seriously, and I think that's where HK have lost the plot recently. This is a fun, bright outlook on the world of current funky house which reminds me slightly of the Mark Doyle era, but evolved into perhaps something better.
If you've been disappointed with recent releases or are completely new to the Hed Kandi/funky house scene, then this is definitely worth your attention!

Just when I thought a nostalgic Christmas was over I came across this super 2 CD set from NotNow. The set boasts 50 songs and a whole host of well known stars too. It is good to have a mix of both American and British stars represented and there are even duets.
This is a welcome addition to the Christmas titles offering something just a little different and with Eartha Kitt, David Whitfield, Dickie Valentine, Bing, Dick, Frank, Perry, Nat, Ella, Peggy and Judy to serenade you whilst you cook that traditional roast turkey what more could you ask for?
Favourite songs for me are "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"; "Silver Bells"; "Santa Claus got Stuck in My Chimney" and the traditional carols.
Good sound throughout and attractive packaging ... Read More:

Whist not having the usual suspects such as Slade,Shaky et all this is still a worthwhile buy. It is more a seasonal selection rather thanS specifically christmas stuff. Stop the cavalry is there(disc 1) tho id prefer it if it wasnt as after having a downstairs neighbour who used to blast it out at all hours im pig sick of it!! Theres some lovely 50s and 60s stuff (Alma Cogan and the divine Kay Starr, a whole heap of Nat King Cole and Dean Martin and almost a disc of real christmas songs. Even The Muppets turn up although the inclusion of The Seekers Morningtown Ride is baffling until played alongside the wintery feel of the other tracks. This is a really fine selection that merits the title The most interesting xmas album....Ever.Granny will love it as it will ... Read More:

After reading the reviews that 'i thought' were quite helpfull, i found the album to be of satisfactory standard. maybe it might be because of my age (i am in my twenty's) but i only knew a handfull of the artists on the album, and even then only about 3 of the songs would be what i call 'proper' christmas songs! i.e The Pogues. Im afraid i wont be recommending it to any one, im just glad i only paid less than £3 for it!

I have to agree with the writer of the 1-star review that the actress who plays Elphaba on Broadway (and is featured on the cd) definitely has a disappointing voice compared to the West End actress. However, I do think that the actors playing Glinda and the Wizard, in contrast, have a better voice on Broadway, compensating a little for Elpahaba. I really do hope that a West End version of this cd will become available at some point.

A predictable bunch of same sounding tracks from the ever narrowing scope of music that features in this dying magazine.
