Disney's Greatest Hits

How do Disney do it. They seem to have that magic touch with everything they do and this album is no exception. Although my son is only quite young he still loves this album every time I put it on and I have to admit that so do I.

If you have seen any of the films (which I imagine is most of you) then you have to get this album. Time and time again you will be whisked away back to the wonderful world of Disney films and animation. Okay I am rambling but it is a very good album. 5 stars!!!

Stax - 50th Anniversary Celebration

If you are a serious Soul fan you will have most of these tracks already.
If you are a Music fan you will be familiar with most of the twenty or so Stax artist featured on this fifty track CD.
This is no Greatest Hits Collection (plenty of them here on Amazon)but a wonderful insight into one of the greatest Record Labels of the sixties and early seventies.
If you like Music, Soul Music, then this is a worthy addition to any CD Collection

Until now there's never been a comprehensive collection of what were the singles hits in Jazz in the 60s.It's a fascinating backwater of American popular music which began with the Dave Brubeck Quartet who put 5 titles on the top 100 with Take 5 as the biggest-and with music already about 3 years old.
Possibly it began with the British-Chris Barber had a couple of hit singles in 1959 and was followed up to 1962 with Kenny Ball,Acker Bilk and Victor Feldman-whose groovy version of A taste of honey has never been made available on CD until now-this was recorded in the States at the same time as the vocal version by Lenny Welch.
Another British item here is Johnny Dankworth's African Waltz which only bubbled under but other versions did nothing.

I am gutted cos I have lost one of the CDs in this amazing double album. Even with one CD is is TOPS. My favorites are Lemar singing the Darkness Track, and James Blunt singing Lemar..... as I said Pure Gold!

So, Ace Records are to be congratulated for issuing this double album containing 50 wonderful tracks of the kind of music to be heard on TTRH. The only thing missing is the man himself but that shouldn't deter anyone from acquiring this marvellous and wide-ranging selection of great music expertly compiled by Ace.

The Best of Bond ...James Bond

This reminds you just how much the Bond films have benefited down the years from fantastic themes; all the themes are perfect in the fact that they give each film its distinct identity. The caliber of artists is also amazing, it obviously being very cool to do a Bond theme!!
If you love Bond, you'll know every tune off by heart; if you don't, you'll still know a lot of them.
My faves are 'Nobody Does It Better', 'For Your Eyes Only', 'Live and Let Die', and 'A View to a Kill', but I could make a case for virtually any track.
Great set of songs. Great films. Great album.
