Top Gear - Seriously Cool Driving Music

I love to drive long distances, touring around countries by car, stopping off in B&Bs, local ranches and generally soaking up the beauty around me, and much of it on my own. But whether you are on your own, or travelling with someone, this is a fabulous collation of songs to complement any long drive. Have had the CD as my companion both in the Mid-West USA and around Scotland, and through sun and rain, made my drive all the more pleasurable.

MOS Chilled 1991-2008

Many of the other reviews about this product are critical of this album as they seem to be saying that it has too many good songs that they already have. I do not see why this should be a problem as having all these very good tracks in one package must be a good thing.
If you are new to this genre of music like I was then this album is the ideal starting point and I would highly recommend it to you.

Songs Without Words

The tracks by Coldplay and Keene are excellent....my heart and soul and eyes shed a tear of joy, brilliant music, re-created into an excellent classical arrangement...I hope they do some more!!!!

Strictly Come Dancing

I was disappointed by this CD. It's just as well that it is very reasonably priced, or I would be awarding two stars. I assume that the idea is to provide a compilation of tunes ideally suited to Ballroom or Latin dancing, in versions that take into account the particular needs of dancers. Instead, we have some fairly ordinary versions of the tunes, sometimes at rather strange tempos. For example, Norah Jones' version of "Come away with me" is equally good as a waltz, and musically more satisfying than Track 7. Similarly "Smooth"; the Santana/Rob Thomas version is an excellent Cha Cha and cannot be bettered. This one won't be spending much time in the CD player. I wish I'd simply downloaded the originals from iTunes and made my own compilation. Worst ... Read More:

The Saturday Sessions - The Dermot O'Leary show

This is a must-have for any ipod. There are very few songs I skip past (Manics being the only one) and some really memorable covers - Willy Mason doing a George Michael's Careless Whisper! Who'd have thought...

Personal favourites are Jont's 'Number 1' (I will never tire of listening to this), Jamie T 'A New England', Rufus Wainwright 'Hallelujah', and Athlete's 'God Only Knows' which has made me discover the Beach Boys for the first time (i'm 27).

Excellent, chilled out album which I'll never get bored of...

Hey pop pickers! Do you despair at the state of British indie music? Need that itch seriously scratching? Man,this is one wild and groovy ride. Weird and wonderful and very much deserving the attention of any curious and open minded music fan.I ain't no world music fan ,but the currently very stale indie scene forces one to search further afield to satisfy ones needs. If you like this, watch the film: Broken flowers (Bill Murray). Alot of this music soundtracks that film brilliantly. Also try Tinariwen (for seriously cool desert blues)or Kasai allstars.

The Jersey Boys Original Broadway Cast Recording

I saw the show in October, The Four Seasons were way behind my time but the show and this recording are what will bring the band's great music back and to younger generations. The soundtrack is one of the best cast recordings I have ever heard, I play my favourite songs from it everyday and dance around like a loon!

It has an amazing feel good factor to it, they sound a lot like The Four Seasons but there's a freshness about the music too which coming from a younger generation appeals to me more than the original recordings of Franki Valli and The Four Seasons.

Go and see the show, it's having amazing runs everywhere and I've just heard it's come to London, I'll be booking my ticket to see it there next time I go!

Love Actually

I fell in love with this movie when it first opened in theaters and I loved all the music in it, including the score, and particularly the bit where Colin Firth proposes to Aurelia. But when I bought the CD here in the US, all it had what the popular pop stuff! (I guess they figured Americans wouldn't appreciate the beautiful instrumental music? Probably right actually.) You guys in the UK got the whole deal. It will be well worth the overseas shipping!!

Floorfillers Clubmix

I brought this album as the first disc has a great track list but was slightly dissapointed to find some of the songs have been remixed a bit too much and don't sound as good as the originals, like 'She's like a star'! Shame because I love that song.
I first loaded this album onto my computer and listened to it and it sounds absolutely awful!! I have Dolby Surround sound on my laptop and still sounds rubbish so I left a 1 star rating but this morning I put it in my car which has a very good sound system in it and this album sounds AMAZING!! So the 1 star rating has been removed and it's got a 5 star from me. The bass they have put on this album makes the remixed songs sound better than in a club!! One album you have got to buy if you seriously like your car to thump!!!!!
