. Cast in Stoneby: Venom Release Date October 01, 1999 .....of the original Cronos/Mantas/Abbadon lineup marred by horrible production !! The music is so insanely Venom; such a return to form with the crude, gut-wrenching, punk-metal style that gave albums like Black Metal the fame it still enjoys but with more skill in the musicians playing trades, which had been evident not only on the Dolan era lps but on Cronos' and Mantas' solo lps. Problem with the sound is that this cd was recorded with a ridiculously high recording volume, devoiding it of all dynamics. The drums are horribly mixed and have no punch at all. Little upper treble plagues the whole cd. Little wonder it was re-released remastered and expanded 10 years later, make sure you get that one instead. The bonus disc sports ... Read More: |
