This is THE most extreme record Venom have ever released.Machine gun drumming,with the double bass drum predominant in the mix, this record sounds more up to date but at the same time is reminiscent of earlier Venom,if in the production values alone. The mix is purposely lo-fi for effect but can be compensated somewhat by adding a lot of upper treble.Chronos voice is in top form but very buried in the mix most of the time,and his bass playing reminds that of his live performances, trebley, almost guitar-like.Guitarrist Micky,who played in the excellent Calm Before The Storm 1984 lp plays some excellent and loud solos but is unfortunately not prominent enough in the mix the rest of the time.Most of the songs are very exciting but some others ...
