. Temples of Iceby: Venom Release Date June 01, 1991 And more exciting than its predecessor, Prime Evil. Like that one, it's not as thrashy as the albums from the Cronos era, it takes more of a technical, rockier-oriented, slower thrash metal path. There's also a rythmic guitarrist called Al Barnes, who is competent enough to play the ocassional double lead/counterpoint solo with Mantas, who by that point had acquired an amazing playing technique, and a keyboardist who introduced some weird but interesting samples here and there. Production is not very good but it can be made to sound OK. This record is out of print and very unlikely to be re-released due to the fact that the current Venom lineup doesn't include ANY of the musicians who recorded this one, but that's what friends and computers ...
