I realised that this album was so good when a couple of the tracks made a quiet and unassumming ascent to the top of the 'most played' list on my mp3 player.
This music chills you out and sends your mind drifting - the vocals are blissful.
Every time I get in the car with my 2 year old daughter and her older brothers (6 and 9) I am easily persuaded into repeatedly playing 'The Swimming Song' - so there is something here for everyone!
I saw Vetiver recently in Nottingham at The Bodega Social - there was about 50 in the audience but it was easily the gig of the year.

Music like Vetiver shows such imagination. The hybrid of Folk bits of Pop and dabbling in Country is lovely and really inspirational. An album you really really enjoy listening to, but not life changing in a Van Morrison or Nick Drake way.

I first encountered Vetiver in January 2007 as part of the Zero Degrees Of Separation tour. As soon as the San Franciscan quartet began to play and Andy Cabic's sweet vocals lilted forth, I was struck by an overwhelming burst of emotions, both of melancholy and joy, of which this beautiful album captures perfectly.
To Find Me Gone is a warm mixture of alternative bluesy and folksy Americana that is sure to lift the spirit and make one think of happy and sad times past. Its soothing acoustic rhythms and steadfast percussion combine wonderfully with Cabic's heartfelt vocals. The music is a lovely antidote to the current crop of cloned indie bands doing the rounds and is sure to make you fall in love with your stereo again.
Release Date August 27, 2007
Vetiver is perhaps one of the most sedate psych-folk bands you'll ever hear. And between two full-length albums, Andy Cabic and his band turned out a small, heartfelt EP named (appropriately enough) "Between," with a trio of little songs and two live performances.
"I can't believe that you're knockin'/knockin' on my door/oh it's been so long, been so long/fate has a way of showin'/where you belong," Cabic sings over some spare folky guitars and almost imperceptible flicker of keyboard. He sounds both surprised and a little depressed.
He follows it up with the alt-rocker "Save Me a Place," which mingles determined riffs and languid vocals, and the countryish "Busted (Brokedown Version)." And finally we get two live tracks: ... Read More:
