Over the top !
Overbearing !
Its white, and plenty of references to the trouser snake !
Overall a great package for all c*£! rock fans, this compilation plucks the best of David Coverdales post Deep Purple band with a bit of covaredale and page for good measure.
Fans of cliched rock rejoice in over three hours of music coving 30 years.
Release Date April 21, 2008
It's strange to see how split opinions are on this album but I'm sure David Coverdale would rather elicit strong views either way than just have everyone say "Yes, it's okay I suppose".
Personally I wasn't overly impressed when I first played it. In fact I was very disappointed. However, as Whitesnake played such an important role in my musical development I persevered for a couple more listens and boy am I glad I did. While it is not perfect, it is still a very strong addition to the catalogue. I'd advise those of you who binned it earlier to revisit it and you might just realise that you made a mistake.

a great selection of songs by a great band, buy this along with the 1994 greatest hits and the 2004 early years compilation then you would truly have the very best of whitesnake!
Release Date July 11, 1994
I was atttracted to this album after listening to "Here I Go Again" and bought this album a few weeks later. Initially I just listened to that one song but I gave the other songs a go and I realized why Whitesnake are one of the more popular hard rock bands from the 1980s. "Is This Love?", "Straight For The Heart" and "Don't Turn Away" are all excellent tracks. David Coverdale has a powerful voice that puts many of today's Indie bands to shame and John Sykes is great guitarist and every solo is pleasurable to listen to. "Here I Go Again" is still my favourite track however and Adrian Vandenberg's guest solo on that track is one of the best I've heard. Vandenberg would later appear as a proper member of Whitesnake later on.
Over all, a top notch album.

Great Whitesnake album, stand out tracks for me are, Slide It In, Slow An' Easy, Guilty Of Love, this is the original U.K. mix that features Mell Galley and Micky Moody on guitar, it sounds like the classic Whitesnake rather that the Americanized Whitesnake of today

This is one of my all time favourite live recordings. It has everything I want, atmosphere, great playing, a sense of the occasion, great production and a super setlist.
This album has been remastered to great effect. It is possible to really hear why Neil Murray was really in the driving seat with this incarnation of Whitesnake. He really keeps the rhythm locked down and clearly hammers out the direction every song is going. He leaves loads of space for the two guitar players to get their teeth into without losing the ability to outline the melody. IMHO Neil Murray is one of the most underrated British bass players ever.
This live offering completely annihilates the Live in the Shadow of the Blues album. Whilst the latter has as good a setlist ... Read More:

As I said...oh dear! So DC hit the big time with this one - success in the States. It makes me wince just thinking about it. It also makes me wince to read some of the reviews here. This ablum is not even in the same league as Come n get it & Ready n willing. They were Mr Coverdales musical peaks in terms of creativity with this band. Any essence of what the band stood for was lost at this point. This was just a vehicle for a bunch of musical mercenaries to come in and make stacks of cash before running for the hills. What have Whitesnake produced since? There are arguably 4 good tracks of note on here. Yes Mr Vai is excellent - but there's no feel at all - its clinical. Plus the travesty that was to re record probably one of his greatest songs - Fool for your loving? ... Read More:

This is one of the worst "Greatest Hits" albums Whitesnake have put out. Why ? It's because so many classic Whitesnake songs are missing on here. Where is the live favourite "Aint No Love In The Heart Of The City" ?. "Dont Break My Heart Again" ? "Ready An Willing" ?. The album does not feature enough of Whitesnakes early work and features too much of latter 80's albums 1987, and Slip Of The Tongue. If you are looking a introduction to Whitesnake buy "The Best of Whitesnake" instead. Dont waste money on this poor effort.

Though there are some doubters out there, this remains their best album. The very best of the rock & blues WS - not beaten by the very different US rocker albums - and has not dated in sound (ignore the lyrics, they still make you smile). The WS classic. Bad to be good replicates the humour and updates it - worth checking out too!
