I love this album, and what a bargain it is! I think the most refreshing thing about it is that it carefully balances the ideas of early rap and 90's hip-hop - those being the smooth and 'meaningful' lyrics he's produced, and the clean break-beat production. This is something that has been lost in today's market, for now a 'rapper' rambles on about guns, girls, and how his dog died. Hip-hop hardly exsists of course, mainly being replaced by r'n'b in bars etc.
The album starts brilliantly with the great lyrics to G'irls Ain't Nothing But Trouble', which sets a tone for much of the album. Stand out tracks include the full version of the song from the program he starred in; The Fresh Prince of Bell Air, and one of my favourites for the summer ... Read More:

Lost And Found

Will Smith, well what can be said, not only can the guy act, he can also write and sing some awesome songs, his music is a bit curious, doesn't follow the usual trend of american hip hop/RnB music yet has created a fine blend of fill good tunes, in which he has also injected a sense of humour. This with his all round charm and ability to see the good in every situation and his restraint from writting about the negatives in life, gives this album a feel good vibe that will resonate through you as you listen to it, it's great, BUY IT. P.S - check out his other stuff too, it's just as good.

Big Willie Style

Alot of hip-hop heads hate Will Smith, but I'm not really sure why. I love a good many MCs, from Common, Pharoahe Monch, Tribe, Kane and Rakim all the way through to Aesop Rock, Saul Williams, Jehst and the CunninLynguists, and although Smith doesn't offer most of the things that make the aforementioned acts great, he brings his own inimitable style to the table.

This a brilliant feel-good album, loaded with great funky beats from Trackmasters Poke & Tone, L.E.S. and the Magnificent Jazzy Jeff, and some interesting subject matter. There are the club tunes (Miami, Gettin' Jiggy..), yeah, but also autobiographical stuff, a couple of love-related songs, an ode to his son, plenty of braggadocio (he has alot to brag about), and purely fun ... Willennium

'Willenium' is an album that is a hidden gem of today's music. Granted, it was created in 2000, but it's a timeless album from the roots of classic hip-hop, something Will Smith had a definate hand in in breeding from the start. But, 'Willenium', is regarded by some of the diehard fans of 'classic' Will Smith and classic hip-hop in general as not the best of albums. But that statement is, in my opinion, a load of absolute nonsense. And why? Well, allow me to explain.

simply..truly brilliant... if you like a good RnB&Hiphop then go for it, 1000kisses & how tha beat goes on get you jumping, the rest a truly great combination, jadens interlude being, as my girlfriend says, cute! great cd to drive down the motorway to, GO GET IT!

This is an absolutely brilliant CD telling you everything you always to know about the man himself. Childhood growth to lucky breaks and onward stardom. The Interview clips are also both funny and informative. I definetely recommend this product, pure quality!!

Born to Reign

This album seems a big risk with the diversity of styles, yet will pulls it off with great confidence and success. Don't get me wrong this is still not as good as 'Big Willie Style', but i would say on a par if not better than 'Willenium'.

The album opens with a more harder approach to rap than the norm with 'Born to Reign'. This dramatic track leaves you gripped to his lyrics even at times emulating his nemesis eminem. This is continued by 'Act like you dont know' with Tra Knox which is seems an experimental track, the dry beat had less of a 'jiggy' rhythm. This is very different and brilliant at all the same.
