Abide with Me - 50 Favourite Hymns

I have often listened to church music thinking to myself is it all manifested in the same place and released under different titles? However this selection 'hits the spot' with some great renditions of worshipful music and if you like to listen to part singing then cd 1 is excellent. There also some lovely descants some of which i had not heard before, an inspiring selection. Excellent.

As a Yank and a lover of all things brit, I found this cd overwhelming. Play it at full blast and all the neighbors will join you in singing both the British version and American version of these wonderful, familiar, and sacred songs. What an experience!!!

Every year at this time Classic FM bring out a new triple CD set - and this year's is even better than the ones that have come before. I didn't think they'd be able to better "Time to Relax", which was last year's album - but they have! And they've done it in some style too by choosing music from their evening programme "Smooth Classics at Seven", which is presented by the legendary John Brunning. I can't recommend this album enough. And it does just what it says on the box. I've got my copy in the car at the moment - it's perfect as an antidote to a journey from Hull to Manchester on the M62 every morning. I'm seriously considering ordering two more copies - one for the office and one for home - the music choice really is that good. This is ... Read More:

Organ Spectacular from St Paul's Cathedral

Wow, what a disc! This CD is billed as the last recording of the St Pauls organ before restoration but it sounds anything but. The organ sounds superb and the performer, Huw Williams, delivers all the pieces with aplomb and really brings out both the power and the subtlety of the St Pauls organ. The choice of works is excellently varied and the recording quality superb. Highlights include the festive Dubois Toccata, Guy Bovet's pulsating prelude 'Hamburg' and the haunting 'Master Tallis's Testament' (Howells.) In short, a must-have for all pipe organ fans!

The inlay inside however is quite clear that the music is meant predominatly for church weddings. Some very well known classics in here that have been heard in lager adverts to children's programmes and therefore nothing too original.
