Release Date March 18, 2002
I bought this album after reading many good reviews about it. Many people have also told me that it is one of the defining albums of classic rock and helped to influence many bands, especially Thin Lizzy who expanded on the sound Wishbone Ash created. Anyway, time for a track run though:
Time Was - The longest song (9:42) opens the album with some nice clean guitar and peaceful vocal harmonies. Then the song begins to pick up with the introduction of some drums and bass guitar. It still makes you feel at peace though and is a very ncie song. It also contains a nice guitar solo. 7/10
Sometime World - This song begins with some nice vocals and some really tuneful acoustic guitar. Not long into the song, the classic Wishbone ... Read More:

This is possibly the best debut album ever by one of the best bands ever featuring 2 of the best guitarists ever to play together.
The music is thrilling and the guitar playing just brilliant. This is an album every rock fan should own.
Release Date March 19, 2007
When this album was released, I got the impression that Wishbone Ash didn't believe in themselves so much. The modest title suggests a band marking time. Yet 'Just Testing' is a pretty vibrant collection of straight, well-crafted rock songs. The playing and the production give the music a fluid, expansive feel. It isn't what the band were doing in their early years, but it's valid nevertheless. The material is of a uniformly high quality and there are a few ambitious elements along the way, not the least of which is the eerie guitar on 'Insomnia.' Most of the tracks are around the five-minute mark, with the exception of the shorter, poppier 'Pay The Price.' Of the bonus tracks, 'Come On' is a lacklustre version of the Chuck Berry song, 'Fast Johnny' wouldn't be ... Read More:

This is the very best of all the Wishbone albums. Combining hard rock boogie with jazz, harmony, melody and spiritual you have the band firing on all cylinders. Combine this with the first album and maybe one of the live dates albums and you have the ultimate Wishbone Ash.
Release Date February 16, 1998
Great as the mighty Thin Lizzy are, this band pre-date them by a few years and are critical in moving the artform forward with their stunning songs, harmonies, and guitar riffs/breaks. Andy Powell's and Ted Turner's dual guitar is some of the most incredible twin guitar playing you are ever likely to hear, and still sounds as good as ever. Their blues tinged folky style is unique, and their astonishingly fast and clean solos make them a must, not only for guitar fans, but for anyone with an appreciation of great songwriting and musicianship. Underpinned by the steady rock drumming of Steve Upton and the quick fingered bass playing of Martin Turner, this is brilliantly inventive classic rock. In a decade when several great live double albums were released, Wishbone Ash were one of the first to mine its potential. This album pretty much wraps up the best of their original classic line-up. Sometimes, when you hear a studio album, you wonder whether the artist could recreate it to a comparable standard on stage. WA proved here not only that they could, but that they could give that music an extra edge in the live arena. The twin guitars sound as telepathic and as sweet as ever and the band as a whole just blazes.
Starting the album with three climactic tracks from the band's legendary 'Argus' was a clever move. It draws you straight in. A blues cover featuring some great slide, reminds you of their roots and serves as an interlude before some more big-hitters. 'Pilgrim' ... Read More:

Hmmm, I remember being very worried at the time of Ted Turner's departure from the band, fearing the end of the finest twin guitar sound in rock music at the time, but when Laurie Wisefield stepped up to the plate, at least on There's The Rub, my fears were quietly allayed as he demonstrated himself to be a gifted and versatile player and an ideal partner for Andy Powell. The album, although written with Ted, seemed to suite Wisefield's style, and throughout the six tracks the two guitars blend seamlessly, particularly on Lady Jane, Hometown and the superb F.U.B.B. (yes, we all know the acronym by now!) Don't Come Back is the only let down, but regardless of this slightly throwaway number, the playing across the album is quite superb, with Martin Turner and Steve Upton never sounding better or tighter ...
