Hed Kandi Classics - The Definitive Funky House Collection

Ive been a fan of Hed Kandi for a few years now, and this combines a great mixture of tracks. Its nice to hear some old and new tracks, even the older tracks have been remixed to give them a new edge. Its well mixed and well compiled. I would recommend buying this as it is a true classic compilation with a bit of everything. Its one of my favourite Hed Kandi CD's and it goes down a storm when you've been partying all night!!

Pure Pacha Vol.3: Mixed By Pete Tong & Sarah Main

Another quality Pacha mix!

These mixes are always ahead of the game, featuring tracks that will be big this summer in the party capital, Ibiza.

I think Pete Tong's mix edges it, but Sarah Main's mix is no slouch either.

Highlights include Magik Johnson, Kaskade, Mark Ronson and Steve Angello & Seb Ingrosso.

Essential Millennium: Mixed By Pete Tong/Fatboy Slim/Paul Oakenfold

During my school days this was one of the cd's that go played time and time again, whilst the pete tong disc is nothing more than you'd expect from the series and if you want prime oakenfold look for some of his clasics like live at cream, Fatboy Slim steals the show.

From the saw ettched start through to the sublime finalle it brings up a classic mix which even ten years later, almost, I can still recall from memory. Having brought scanty sandwich, at the time thought to be a sudor(sorry can't spell) for cook himself, through to underworld born slippy before effortsly blending into groove armada at the river has to be one of my favorite mixs of all time.

Pure Pacha Vol.1: Mixed By Pete Tong & Sarah Main

This CD is a couple of Years old now but I have recently purchased it and it still stands up well. The Sarah Main mix is the better of the two, a bit harder and more electro, with "Don't Stop" by Jaymo & Hauswerks and "Hypnotized" by Gold, Thomas & Chriss Ortega/Tyler being the stand out tracks. It's also a bit less obvious than Pete Tong's mix with no tracks that have since become overplayed ("Put Your Hands Up For Detroit", "a Bit Patchy"). That said Tong's mix is still decent, and has a better opening with the Kris Menace track an excellent starting point. Overall then 3.5/5 for Pete Tong's Mix and 4.5/5 for Sarah Main's so four stars.

Essential Selection Ibiza/Summer '99

I need not tell you that '99 was "the" year for dance music, and the location? Ibiza! Thankfully, Pete Tong provided us with this album, which blends ridiculously brilliant funky sounds on the first CD, packed with some of the hottest tunes, such as Sing It Back and Get Get Down, while the mix iself starts of with Cascades of Colours - a lovely opening song.
CD2 meanwhile has a trance theme, and though has an average start, redeems itself within the second half. The remix of Not Over Yet, the original probably being one of the best dance songs to dropped on an MK 5 (though I have yet to find an album from 99 that has the original!!) is very good, and alot more like the original. The track 'Lies' that follows this is superb and is a typical 90's dance song, ... Read More:

Essential Selection 1998: Mixed By Pete Tong & Paul Oakenfold

I own all the Essential Selections pre 2000, and this is definitely the best of the bunch. I've always said 1998 was such a brilliant year for dance music - it was the movement away from acid and dark garage, and trance finally came into it's own.
Pete Tong mixes his usual style on the 1st CD, starting off with some brilliant break beats, and as ever, seamlessly blending them with some fab house tracks. Stardust simply had to be on here, while other classics such as You Don't Know Me and Needin' U have their spot.
Paul Oakenfold has his say too on Disc 2 with a mix of trance and house, and is probably the better of the CD's.

Very commercial selection with likes of scooter,deedee,milky,milk inc etc.But these songs by them are good and this people are fairly good esually milk inc with tunes like in my eyes.With also some well know tunes by ian van dahl like reason now i love that song.A collection of commercial dance and even flava of rnb by missy elliot and dnb by goldtrix.
If you hate commericial dont bother but if dont mind abit commercial like me its good.
