please people grow up and listen to some AC/DC !

Most of all VERY ANNOYING ! id rather listen to an entire CD of a toilet being flushed than this garbage !

HAVING JUST BOUGHT THIS. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THE TRACKS WERE RE-MASTERED FROM THE ORIGINALS (WITH THE HELP OF MORRISSEY ? ?)
THEN WHO WAS THE PILLOCK THAT CHOPPED THE FULL FADE OFF "THAT JOKE ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE" BUT LEFT THE FULL TIMING ON THE SLEEVE????
ANOTHER BRILLIANT OPPORTUNITY WASTED....
MORRISSEY AND WARNER BROTHERS.........HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME!!!

If you're thinking about buying this, chances are you own most of the songs already from the good ol' Jeepster days. But listen up: these are interesting live variations that will make your old sounds utterly new. How about "Stars of track and field" with a twangy bass (?) so slack the strings sound like they're shuffling off to China and back, a less-full-on LLPJ (aka Lazy Jane, sounding a bit like an ice-cream van track in places!), Me and the Major with lovely piano, oh and plenty more surprises. A few classic covers on here too, such as "Here Comes the Sun", "Waiting for the Man", and the "Boys are back in town" (a great track that unfortunately now reminds me of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Joseph wannabees at Saturday tea-time). I bought this album on the strength of Lights Out, and am really pleased with it. I would give it five stars but there are maybe 3 or 4 weak tracks but I don't mind that. I would rather have 8 quality fresh experimental tunes and 3 or 4 that miss the mark, than 12 tracks of boring averageness.

For less than a fiver it's a bargain, just take a chance and get it.

'You'll find a way' is brilliant and my current pick of the bunch but I tend to change my mind as I become more familiar with albums - in a month I may prefer a different track.

Friendly Fires

This is a bona fide pop/dance classic. FF hark back to the 80's..the best parts..and you won't be disappointed if you enjoyed the early career-defining albums of Prince/Eurthymics/Thompson Twins/Spandau(early singles)Heaven 17. Add-in some Parachutes Coldplay and some chiming,exciting guitar work and you've got the best confection I've heard for a long,long time.
It's the kind of album that makes you want to shout from the rooftops for everyone to take time out to listen,dance and enjoy.
I don't know what else FF could do to make a classic debut...they could be prettier?...from NYC?...have celebrity girlfriends?......but that's just the fluff that would get them a Red Top audience.
I hope they can make a great living while making great music.

Peaceful The World Lays Me Down

I feel that the album is actually better overall than the single - tho can only be pleased that the single brought attention. It is a considerable accolade to say that the sound reminds me of one of the best indie bands for many years - Neutral Milk Hotel.

As someone who had managed to avoid Zero Seven and Sia until now, this is a revelation. Intrigued by a stunning performance on Jools Holland's "Later", I decided to gamble on the album. A worthwhile gamble? Oh,yes! What we have here is a real singer, with passion and power combined with quirky rhythms and lovely melodies, sometimes jaunty, sometimes offbeat, but often heartbreaking. Reference points? Kate Bush for sure- but she's no imitation. her yearning, emotional vocals sometimes bring the Pretenders to mind- but then, when you listen to her version of "I go to Sleep",included here,all you hear is Sia.

The Trick To Life

I really like the whimsical, slightly retro, ELO-inspired sound these lads create. I loved Goodbye Mr A and I liked Worried About Ray as singles so I was intrigued as to what the rest of the album would sound like.

The album as a whole is good, but not great. There are no other tracks which stand out to me, and it sounds rather generic, like a cross between ELO and The Feeling, which should be good, but this album does not really excite or inspire me, despite it being listenable.
