It is so wrong! To date only one Martha EP and one album have been released in the UK, plus you will have to get an import to get the Love is a Stranger cover.
Come on Amazon must do better!
As for the album- Martha Wainwirght is better than all of those MOR folk rocker chicks strung together on a tribute LP. Much more raw, honest and lyrically adept- not to mention humourous too. Enjoy!

For those unfamiliar with Brandi Carlile's work, she's probably best compared to KT Tunstall, with similar use of instrumentation and a similar vocal range. But whereas Tunstall's second album substantially developed on her first, Carlile's follow-up to her eponymous debut takes only modest steps forward, whilst ticking all the same boxes. So it's still angsty guitar-heavy rock with a little country influence; fortunately, it's also still rather good.
An example: in her first album, Carlile often slides around the music, glissing between notes, giving a lazy, luxurious quality to some of her songs. In the follow-up, she lets her voice slide further, across whole octaves, between registers even, and she even occasionally lets it break ... Read More:

I'm not from the US, my family hail from Kashmir and I was born in the UK, grew up listening to punk rock but WOW! The soundtrack literally drips with the era and place it hails from; every time I hear a snippet I swear I can feel the heat and smell the wheat - so amazing!

I can't believe its finally here, this has to be the most exciting release this year and should gain as much if not more respect as Smile did.
This is a true classic, and is indeed the holy grail of all beach boys albums.

The guy who in the 60s used to wind up the Press and tell anyone who asked that some song was about light bulbs or something seems to have suddenly acquired vast knowledge over the last 10 years at least.
Maybe he goes on Wikipedia a lot as some of the info he imparts is not exactly rooted in most peoples' brains.
Dylan though showed signs of what was to come in an album which was eternally slagged off-SELF PORTRAIT.
Remember that one-where he showed he was not averse to covering other peoples stuff. It suited me fine as I love cover versions.
Anyway Bob next time you do one of these can you include plenty of high school pop-you know Bobby Vee who once sacked you-and a few of the other Bobbies like the great Bobby Rydell. And not forgetting Fabian ... Read More:

How can anyone who has heard this album agree with the creature who gave it 1 star? Whilst it's not my favourite KR set, it shines like a diamond in the dross of contemporary music and is worth the purchase price for the kinks rework from Jam & Jerusalem.
Release Date April 14, 2003
I bought this only having seen the video for 'Hurt' - one of the most moving pieces of film I've ever seen.
I have this picture in my head every time I listen to this CD - a broken-down church on the prairies, with The Man in Black walking slowly away from it as the setting sun sets the sky afire.
And then there's the range of songs. They're the sound of a broken-down, doubting preacher - the cheerfully apocalyptic opening track captures some of the blood and fire that is there, under the surface in every track, but too often it's a memory, and Cash's voice is filled with the sadness of a man who remembers what he was and knows he has fallen from what he was.
That's not to say that this is a hopeless, bleak CD. There is hope here, there is ... Read More:

If I had written this shortly after buying it I would have given it two of three stars in the hope that it would improve on further listening. That has not been the case. It has got progressively worse. It may be my taste but the joy that came through in their earlier Albums (including the best, Desperado) is completely lacking here. For comparison with another elderly rocker, listen to J J Cale - now that's what I call music.

Okay. Pub argument Number 120. Who is the greatest song-writer ever? Dylan, Lennon and McCartney are all in with a shout. Brian Wilson, Kurt Cobain, Roger Waters, the list goes on. But seriously, how could anyone take this title other than Neil Young. I mean it, this guy is so good, it defies belief.
I did try to collect a few Neil Young albums a few years back. In time they disappeared or got sold, and I continued to listen to all sorts of mindless rubbish (what the hell was I supposed to know, I was only a punk kid). But over the last few years i've come to the conclusion that not only is Neil Young far better than even people think he is, but even amongst the elite, he's virtually untouchable.
Don't believe me? Then listen again. Every single song on 'Harvest' is masterful. ... Read More:

After the Goldrush the song itself. Is a brilliant song, only 3 verses. The third verse is the most important with regard Mother Nature. I would advise people to read Arthur C Clarkes story called Childhoods End. Verse 3 of the Neil Young song puts that story into 5 lines:-
"Well I dreamed I saw the silver spaceships lying In the yellow haze of the sun
There were children Crying and Colours flying All around the Chosen ones
All in a dream all in a dream, the loading had begun
Flying Mother Natures silver seed to a new home in the Sun
Flying Mother Natures silver seed, to a new home."
A truly inspirational song and an album which shows great versatility and lasting power. Along with Harvest my favourite Neil Young Albums.
