I liked this album a lot. It starts off strong and gets better through to the two songs at the end, which for me were the highlights. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful voice, beautiful music, beautifully produced. A melancholy album pretty much through and through I felt, and that would be my only criticism. Nothing pacey and upbeat to help mix it up a bit. Four stars from me.

Faith Hill is a legend in country music, but I do find her to have a more `rock' take on country, which I love. You do also get the great slow, sad songs which are just so well written.
In this greatest hits album you have some of the best songs faith has done, although there are some even better songs which failed to make it on to this cd, don't know why, but its still an amazing collection .
Every song on here is great ( with the exception of `over the rainbow' never cared for that song).
A classic collection.

Has much has i Like Dolly Parton, I do wonder how many more times are her managers going to release her Greatest Hits & Best Of Albums.
I think she should come back and do something New!!
I brought Dolly Partons Greatest Hits back in 1999 The Album i have is a 2x Disc version With the same songs and same listings in the exact same track listing order has these 2 seperate Albums!! Why it has been Re-released has two seperate Volumes is beyond me, Especially when the version i have is still avalible to buy.
I have given this a 4 Star if it was a New greatest hits it would have got a 5 Star, However it isn't. And plus it's not Dolly's thought i blame the record company!!! :-)

I bought this album for two reasons. First and foremost, the music is so beautiful, original and real compared to most of the other stuff about at the moment. The second reason is my support of free speech, especially when what is said is correct! The way the chicks (particularly natalie) were treated was horrendous and genuinely unbelievable but it has only made them stronger and theyve come back better than ever. From a first glance at the album cover you know what youre about to listen to is going to be interesting. The girls have matured so much, and if you contrast the covers of this and 'Home' of 5 years back you would struggle to believe it is the same chicks! Then again, alot has happened in their lives between the making of these two albums. The lyrics ... Read More:

Although I'm not a Garth Brooks fan at all, I must admit that he
has had a string of wonderful hits that are all on this double CD
+ the "gift" of a DVD where all these hits can be seen. Besides,
the price of this "triple disc" offer is incredible. So much for
so little!

Alison Krauss I guess is one of those singers you either love or hate. She has a tonal quality that for me epitomises the very best in Bluegrass. This album is no exception. The sheer quality of her voice is at time unbelievable
and whilst it is true she veers away from pure bluegrass - her strength is that she can carry this off with huge credibility. I bought this album not only because I love Alison Krauss - but I heard her wonderful duet with James Taylor of "hows the world treating you?"- and simply had to have it! This is an old song recorded by Elvis in his early days - and hearing Alison and James brought back all those memories of wonderful songs, and meaningful lyrics. I also adore her version of "I'm just a country boy/girl" formerly recorded by Don ... Read More:

I liked this album a lot even though many of the tracks are a bit too fast and loud compared to music I usually listen to.But I've been listening to it for a couple of months now so it's definitely got quality.

I always had a problem with Country as a youngster, growing up as I did in a working class English town and hooked on Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Sabbath. Though I could listen to Johnny Cash, some of the female country stars of the time (Tammy Wynette etc) really grated on me.
I bought this collection on a whim while working out in California a couple of years ago. This was the first time I really listened to her as a recording artist in her own right, though I was familiar with her work with Gram Parsons and her excellent backing vocals on Dylan's Desire.
I must say that this album blew me away. Her voice is totally exquisite and it is little wonder that her talents been in such demand over the years. Though The Grateful Dead first introduced me ... Read More:

I consider myself a music fan, and I have wide and varied tastes. One look through P.Jones reviews will bear out that unless you like his/her particular brand of music you are not considered a music fan. Total nonsense. Music, like beauty, is in the "ear" of the beholder: Shame on you for being so closed-minded.
I have several Shania Twain albums and a couple of DVDs and I'm not ashamed to say I've been to see her twice, and ALL of my encounters with her and her music have been uplifting. If you like up-beat, fun music - some with a deeper story to tell - you will enjoy this album. If you like Shania's silky, effortless voice, you will enjoy this album. And thats a promise.

Alison Krauss has one of the beautiful voices in modern music. But this album shows Union Station to be so much more than her stunning vocals. The stand out feature of this album is the musicianship of all members of the band. The addition of jerry douglas dobro has added a new layer to their compositions. This album is simply a must.
