ISOS 5 was widely regarded as the classic - this is way better! Very instrumental, very light on the vocals, which is how I like my trance. CD 1 / CD 2... they're both stunners. The best trance I've heard in a long while.

I've very strangely titled ths review as like being on a plane, just because some aspects of it are exactly that! When the album starts the plane is parked on the runway and the engines go down then everything just well.. takes off. You want to close your eyes but are just forced to submit and watch, just as the album opens you can't help just just sit listen or get up and dance like a looney depending on preference! Anyway dispensing with the metaphor, I was never a fan of drum and bass or any music of that kind. I thought that it was just for a certain group of people that was until me and my friend happened to find 'Hold your Colour' on a stone wall out in the middle of nowhere that my views on that music were changed perhaps forever. After we stuck ... Read More:

Like the previous reviewer, I would also like to start in questionable fashion... Why on earth are people comparing this to the likes of Play and Hotel? What you all fail to realise is that Moby release's albums centred around a different theme, a feeling. To call him an individual artist to a specific genre is wrong; the likes of Play and Hotel demonstrated his freedom to cross many different sub-genres, whereas this album, (as it CLEARLY explains in the CD booklet, if anyone even bothered to read it) is inspired by his days clubbing with friends until the early mornings around the late 80's/early 90's. 'Nuff said really.
The album itself is quite a refreshing change for todays market, inspired by typical Roland synths from the 80's and 90's, that ... Read More:

I rarely listened to music due to my hard of hearing. But, when one day someone recommended me to see Faithless' "Bombs" video, I was taken back and surprised at the flow of the music in the mentioned video. Indeed, I became attracted to his music.
So, I came upon this "The Greatest Hits" and I could not stop listening to it. From this set, my favorite songs are:

Having bought this album after hearing it playing in the hairdressers (!), I was not dissappointed. There are so many songs I recognised that I didn't even realise were Groove Armada's and there's a real mix of chill out songs along with dance/pop, so whatever mood you're in this album will give you a lift! I don't think this album will ever sound out-dated, it's great!

On reading the two reviews above I decided it was worth getting this album. What a mistake. If you can get over the incessant and distracting artificial crackle that has been added onto the majority of the tracks you are left with a mish mash of sounds that don't really stick together. The album doesn't really go anywhere - as for the beats, I found they had an annoying 'out of time' feeling. Avoid!

Fantastic double cd of stripped-down electro and pumped-up electronica.
If you liked Benny Benassi's track 'Satisfaction', Soulwax's Nite Versions, or the track played in the Citroën ad in which the car transforms into a robot and skates on the ice (the Tocadisco remix of 'Walking Away'-CD 1, Track 8), you'll love this cd.
CD 1 is the more 'clubby' set, track after track of pulsing electronic beats, expertly blended into one continuous mix, the highlight being the brilliant Wekan track 'Skid'.
CD 2 has a more 'cinematic' feel to it, like the soundtrack to some techno remake of Blade Runner; highlights include the Tomas Andersson track 'Washing Up' and Vitalic's classic 'La Rock 01'.
Both cds sound fantastic through a good set of headphones.
