Right....oasis fans who think that oasis are the best british band since the beatles....listen to this.....Oasis' definately maybe got voted top british album of all time...pah! this is so much better, as is anything by radiohead, pink floyd and the beatles! Listen to songs such as fools gold, waterfall, i wanna be adored and i am the resurrection....these alone are better than any of the gallacher offerings....trust me and buy this!

I think anyone who browses this site will soon realise that the price and quality of cds are rarely related. Here we have another example of a GREAT cd available for pennies. Marvin Gaye would have been happy to have recorded "It's not that easy", Mobile DJs around the country would be wise to invest in this disc for Lemar's duet with Joss Stone for Silver Wedding celebrations and as for the collaboration with the always excellent Mica Paris and Styles P, WOW !. You will rarely here such a complete Urban/R&B tune as "Can't you see".You may have guessed already but I RATE this album. It joins my list of bargain soul buys - see my other reviews for more excellent soul with change from a quid.

THIS IS THE BUSINESS. Not since the Money Spyder has James Taylor presented a stripped back band free of horns and singers, leaving the instruments to rule the day. And rule they do. While the Money Spyder was an edgy raw beat soundtrack to the Carnaby Street of your dreams, this album is it's older more sophisticated brother - still happy to cut loose with a room full of go go dancers, but at the same time not afraid to show a bit more depth. With a cracking jazz feel to a lot of the guitar work, thanks to new boy Nigel Price (his solos are just sublime), a rock solid funk fuelled rhythm section, and of course JT's hammond all over this bad boy - you just can't go wrong.

When I bought this album, I kind of liked it,but something was missing.

I played it and whilst it was never off my player for a while, it soon made it's way onto the shelves, and was forgotten about as The Darkness' star rapidly fell.

I remember seeing the band on a kids morning TV show at the time of the first single release from this album, and they looked frankly dowdy, with Justin in a boring T Shirt and jeans.

Now I look back, and I realise that was was missing was the FUN element of the band.

Maybe they had taken to heart the comments as to whether or not they were true rockers or if they were just joking around with the music.

Unfairly known as the `comedown queen', Beth Orton has been mining a particular furrow of the frail chauntese for a decade now. Or, more accurately, as the credible female singer-songwriter for whom massive commercial success has always eluded her. Singer-songwriter. What a dreadful phrase that is- Dylan's a singer-songwriter.hell. Even Robbie Williams is a singer-songwriter. So the phrase is itself absolutely redundant.

Meanwhile, Beth Orton seems never to make great commercial inroads or revolutionise the music world. Love the album even though "Hey there Delilah" has grated on me now due to being overplayed on the radio.I have to start the album from track 2 so I dont hear that song.The rest of the album is quite rocky and singalong.Listeners to Kerrang radio will already know the singles "Hate(I really don't like you") and "Our time now".The Dvd is great as an extra & shows them live in concert in their hometown + some music videos.Overall this is a must for people who missed out on the album first time round as you get your moneys worth,just dont expect dull ballads as this band have got a shed load of songs that will make you want to jump up and down to.
