I downloaded this from I-tunes today, and I am now on my third listen through, which I personally dont find happens alot these days (I usually skip through cds on the first listen!) Sasha definitely has a way with his production (and mixing skills sometimes) or drawing you in, and taking you on a journey:
This is most definitely a return to the style of the previous Involver cd, that is electronic music that paints a picture. It comes in waves, and the disappears surging and gradually building to beautiful climaxes, then slowly ebbing away. Not quite as pounding and minimal as some of his more recent releases (mongoose, who killed sparky?) just well crafted progressive house. Some of the tracks are a little slow to my liking (I ... 2008 and Sasha, but a mere 30, has triumphantly reaffirmed his mastery and prowess in electronic music. His Emfire imprint has been tearing at the seams of music production with prog behemoths such as Coma, and Who Kiilled Sparky?, and now the looong awaited sequel to the forever listenable Involver will, in my humble opinion, blow minds for years to come. This is music at its finest, this is Sasha at the top of his game.

I agree that the mixing is pretty seamless, as it should be if it's done in a studio. I can't help feeling that this is cheating really: there's a world of difference between mixing live (not necessarily in a club)and creating something in a studio on a computer, i.e. spontenaety.
Along with all the other Global Underground series, this left me totally unmoved. I really don't get it: the whole series just seems to be a triumph of style over substance. Go for some of the Journeys by DJ stuff instead.

You cant fault this mix at all, disc one is the weaker mix of the two discs. Having said that though it is still better than most out there, it is well mixed and the track selection is spot on! Purple`s money shot and Banco De Gaia`s Obsidian are the best tracks.
Disc two though WOW!!! The best GU mix to date! It has little trippy sounds that somehow when combined with the wonderful basslines just make your eyes glaze over, and you just loose track of time totally!

I bought this several months ago unwrapped it played it and didn't think it was that good, put it away and never played it untill now!..... WOW! put it on tonight over a glass or two of wine and a takeaway with my girl and both of us thought it was simply amazing!!!!!!!... Very cleverly put together and mixed, really deep quality tunes. You just can't help but be sucked in by the mellow deep trance tunes that turn to beautifull melodic enriched vibes. Its just one of those cd's you put on and find yourself drifting away while tapping your feet or nodding your head its simply sublime... I am a really big trance fan and own loads of excellent mixes collected over the last 18 years and i have to say this is defo up there with the best of them and makes my top5. Buy it now ... This mix celebrates Sasha's popularity in the US and I feel that they must love him for a different reason across the pond.
Ever since hearing Xpander, I have been a massive Sasha fan. I think that he is one of the most talented electronic musicians ever, and his own work is absolutely fantastic. However, Sasha's commercial popularity will never result from his own artistry, but from his legend as a worldwide DJ. He is unquestionably one of the most popular DJs in the world, but I really don't think that this album does him any justice.
On the previous mix called Involver, Sasha remixed and put together a beautiful selection of 10 tracks that flowed perfectly from start to finish. It was the true definition of a sonic journey. This album promised something ... Read More:

I don't normally write reviews on Amazon but after reading the top comment i felt that i needed to put the record straight. I'm a massive Deep Dish Fan and seeing as they haven't released a comp CD since Toronto, i was pretty excited when i learnt that Sharam and Dubfire were releasing seperate CD's. However, having bought both, i fell in love with Sharam CD but promptly return Dubfire to where it came!
CD1 is clearly the best with some truly memorable tracks. It's probably a tad more commercial than previous Deep Dish releases but not in a Ministry sort of way only that you probably wouldn't hear many of these tracks in a Deep House style club.
The second disc doesn't have quite so many stand out tracks but still ranks as 9.5/10 compared to many other efforts and ... Read More:

I was disappointed by the first Afterhours cd, yet somehow I have ended up owning three of the four GU releases so far, and this is the best of the lot.
Imagine: you and your pals have had a great night out, and, still on a (natural) high, you get back to your place.
Everyone's still in the mood for fun, so you stick on disc one, and soon, your guests are up and dancing. This is party music, with a good mixture of vocal tracks and (some pretty funky) instrumentals, with the set only mellowing out towards the end.
Now it's getting late, the lights have been dimmed, and your guests are either crashed out on the sofa, or sitting huddled in small groups, deep in quiet conversation. Luckily, you've put on disc two. The music on disc two is darker, moodier, more purely 'electronic'. ... Read More:
