As with some of the previous reviewers, I find myself challenging the suggestion that ths is a return to form for The Leps. Unlike many other reviewers and fans, I am not focused on Hysteria as the pinnacle of Lepppard's achievements...for me Pyromania is THE album and for me, one of the top 10 greatest hard rock albums of all time. I really wanted a Pyromania Volume 2, but we've ended up with something that I want to like but can't quite get there after about 4 listens. I hope its a grower!

All the Right Reasons

I have never really considered buying a Nickelback album, but seeing the price, I decided "Why not?".
I am so glad I did! It's an absolutely fantastic CD. Whether you're rocking out to the harder songs such as "Follow you home" and "Fight for all the wrong reasons" or relaxing to the somewhat melancholy tracks like "photograph" and "Far Away". All songs are great, really, each taking on there own meaning. No matter which song you listen to, I guarantee you, you will love thi album!

Before anyone gets nasty, I am an old rocker too - been a fan of all the big bands since the early sixties. This includes Whitesnake. I never liked Coverdale when he was part of Purple but when he formed Whitesnake i was a converted fan and saw the band many times. DC also brought out some old solo stuff which has one of the best rock ballads ever, Viz:Time and Again.
However as with all good things, enough is enough! While I admit there are a few good sounds on the new album, it will never recapture the feel and excitement of the albums when they were at their best. Still - if it means that more people listen to rock,then I will concede there is a value to pension rock!

Riot

Paramore have been on quite a journey since they started with their first teen angst fueled pop punk album 'All We Know Is Falling' which certainly attracted some attention (Mostly guys....What?! She's hot!).....Although without a doubt, Hayley Williams is far by one of the most impressive female singers there is and could easily rival the likes of Avril Lavigne and Juliet Simms...Hands down! And this album is no different.....

'Riot!' delivers an emotional rollercoaster of high's and lows in the life of a pop punk teen icon and guess what?? We're all invited for the ride! The best thing about all these songs is that most people can relate to them, they're accessible and delivered with raw emotion which is shown by Hayley's magnificent vocal range! ... Read More:

I can't give this album five stars as much as I'd love to because Def Leppard are one of the best rock bands in the world; they lose a star because there is nothing original here and it's pretty much another Def Leppard album sounding much the same as their old stuff. This is good if you are a fan and it's a great album to play when you just want to listen to a bit of feel-good rock music. The stand-out track has to be 'Love' which is fantastic and one of the best rock ballads I've heard for ages. 'Go', 'None Lives' and 'C'mon' are all strong tracks and they are the first three songs followed by 'Love'. After that, the rest of the album is a bit of a disappointment, maybe because the band are so good I may have been expecting too much

Wait for Me

Rather like one of 2007's other debut releases, Cold War Kids' 'Robbers & Cowards', this album starts brilliantly and fades a little in terms of quality of songwriting towards the end of their rather good debut. Having said that, the reason for the success of this album is because of the sheer energy and superbly catchy quality of the trio of songs which open this collection and also because there isn't a song on this album that doesn't deliver in some way.

There are echoes of The Undertones and The Buzzcocks at their best on the superb 'I Found Out' and, all throughout the album, it's almost like The Pigeon Detectives (who hail from the same city as The Kaiser Chiefs, Leeds) have captured how to effectively combine late 70s Pop/Punk with some of the more fashionable ... Runnin Wild

Well, I suppose whilst you wait for the next AC/DC album, this one might keep you happy for a short while. But ultimately they are a pale immitation.

First few songs are nice enough, the rest are average. It's a fun album but nothing special.

while looking for mushroomhead albums amazon suggested this album to me. really this music is not for me. far to whiney and teenage heartbreak struggel kind of music. although its well produced and is all good stuff if your into that. but if your into the more chunky/heavy guys like metallica korn and mudvaynce I doubt these guys are for you
