A rare combination of sweet soulful sounds with a modern twist, Glad to hear a 60's influence still carrying on in the next millenium... a classic...buy it :)
Release Date April 28, 2008
I have attempted to like this album. I have listened to it countless times. But it has to be the worst cd i have ever bought. I am an obsessive madonna fan, and have even managed to find small pleasures in her poorest album 'I'm Breathless.' I have loved Madonna since about the age of 13 and even been at the front row of her Confessions Tour, but this album is DIRE!!
Not one track stands as even being good. At best 4 minutes is average. Whilst Candy Store is throughly disgusting, to quote, 'I've got turkish delight baby and so much more... sticky and sweet,' enough of the inneundo Madonna, we've heard it all before with erotica, and quite frankly I am almost vomitting at the connotations of these lyrics...

Am currently playing this to death! Love, love, love it, maybe even as much as Supernature. Our favourite song is Clowns and my husband keeps playing it over and over again!! It's a great album to chill out in the sunshine to. It lifts the spirit and makes you feel all floaty like :-)

The album Konk is quite similar to the first album 'Inside In/Inside Out' but lacks the catalogue of summer singles to match its predecessor. The album starts off well with the brilliantly catchy 'See The Sun.' It is followed by first single 'Always Where I Need To Be' which is a great first single, proving the band can still write some quick, catchy singles. Following song 'Mr Maker' is good but not great, it is a summery song but never quite lives up to anything on the first album in my opinion. Next up is the rawer sounding 'Do You Wanna' which catches the Kooks in great form. It has a great guitar riff and is perhaps a future single. 'Gap' follows which is a poor song by their standards, it is quite bluesy but never quite gets going and drags on. The song ... Read More:

Working in a HMV I have a good incite to the music industry and its new and up coming talent, but recently there has been a halt and the amounts of drool albums each week full of talent less artists that has made it in to the u k chart is astounding.
I found this album to be relief from the same old Indie rock or pop trance in the chart. She brings a much-needed new taste back with some slow but also catchy jazzy numbers. Top girl!!!!

I have listened to this album over and over many a time and it has not lost my interest at all, i love every single song. Each song is its own, not the same at all. If you liked the singles then this album is for you, there is only better to come. Buy this now!

It cannot be denied that Neil Diamond is a damned fine songwriter and possessed of a striking baritone voice that make his melodies and lyrics even stronger. But too much of his work has been shadowed by chronic over production; a glitzy, Hollywood style from a man in a sequinned jumpsuit more suited to, well anyone, but not to a man capable of writing and performing such compelling songs and who performed with The Band in The Last Waltz.
Enter Rick Rubin with 12 Songs who cut the arrangements to the bare bones just as he'd done with Johnny Cash. The effect was startling as the stark emotion in Diamond's voice was allowed to take centre stage. It is understandable then that Neil Diamond would want to reprise this partnership in the hope of receiving more ... Read More:

The NOW albums always have the pick of the season: there is very little time when I haven't seen a really big song on there. You can practically only get these compilations for your entire music library, because they have all the must-have songs on board. Bit expensive at first glance, but lots of songs and good value for money. And I've really been wanting Rock Star for ages...

I have to agree with the minority here. I believed the hype and bought this album hoping for a return to the well produced and memorable sound of vintage REM. How disappointed I was. All this album does is continue the dull, droning non-melodic sound of a band who took the corporate dollar and invested it in mediocrity. These days I tend to give a band two chances - two boring releases in a row and that's it for me! For some reason, with REM I kept giving them another chance as I honestly cannot think of a single song they have written since 1994 that I would want to listen to. Accelerate is no exception. To compare it to Monster is a joke. It's nothing like. At least Monster sounded like fun. This one sounds like they're trying too hard. And failing! The production is appalling. ... Read More:

This is a very good pop album sung and performed in a manner very alike Sofie Ellis Bextor. There are whole range of voices being used on this recording ranging from the afore mentioned Sofie to Sinead O'Conner. The fact that Gabriella has this range is a true complement to her but, on the whole, the album is all very predictable.
