Having recently rediscovered Neil Diamond through his 12 Songs and Home Before Dark albums, I decided I wanted to replace a similar 'best of' album I bought years ago on vinyl. I searched all over Amazon, couldn't find anything well recommended so I bought Hot August Night. This was a mistake. The Greek concerts may have been something special but the recording is poor and the collection of songs not really what I was looking for. I then stumbled upon this Best Of in my local supermarket of all places. It is exactly what I wanted and exactly what you want if you're looking for a comprehensive collection of his early and so very well known hits. And at £2.98 it's such good value it would be almost rude not to buy it!

I have just got the box set recently, and have been enjoying it greatly. Not just that, my three daughters aged 9, 6 and 2 are great fans, and want to listen to it all the time in the car. And the two-year-old even says 'Rock' once she hears the first few bars of 'We will rock you'. Just goes on to show that Queen truly made ageless music, which still scores far above most contemporary music.

A Great album ,with a mix of live and studio tracks.
Personally I think the live tracks bring some great energy to the album and even though they are live they have good production.

Piano Man The Very Best of Billy Joel could only be regarded as the very best by customers who are pleased that the title track has been butchered and a great chunk of its middle removed. The rest of us might feel Sony BMG Music Entertainment should be ashamed of a shabby deception. If it's legal to sell only part of a song without making it plain that's what you're doing, then it shouldn't be. Prospective buyers who want to hear Joel sing about the real-estate novelist and Davy who's still in the Navy should check the jacket and ensure the song lasts for 5 ½ minutes, not 4 ½.

Yep, Aerosmith have released many many greatest hits albums. I think this one has the best mixture of tracks of the lot though, a range of all their hits starting from way back. Some fantastic songs.
Highly recommended if you've only heard a limited amount of Aerosmith music, as it'll give you the pick of the best of the rest, and you may well decide to look into their more obscure stuff.

Like many of the reviewers I spent part of my childhood with my mum and step dad playing Crowded House every other hour. At the time I was far to obsessed with keeping my attempted image to want anything to do with what my mum liked. Now over ten years on I noticed this CD for cheap on Amazon and recalled some of the songs in my head which was just enough to tempt me into a purchase. I am glad I did.

I can honestly say that of all my music as an overall album this greatest hits has to be one of the best CD's I own. This is one of the few CD's where I can put it on and have the certainty that every song I hear will excel. If you like me ignored this band in the 90's due to being too young to appreciate the music you should definitely look into buying it ... Read More:

Madonna's music in the 1980s was excellent. But why people would be tricked to buy this is amazing. This came out right after I turned 12 years old and knew immediatley not to buy it. Doesn't it seem to good to be true to have Borderline, Like A Virgin, Live To Tell, Into The Groove, Like A Prayer, and Vogue (the latter song not even being 5 months old when this was released) all on one disc? When it seems to be too good to be true, it usually is. A friend of mine made a copy for me on cassette 5 years after the release. It was exactly what I thought: they were not the original versions.
