Man, I long for singers to sing with this passion now-a-days, including Simply Red. The majority of this album was written when sad old Red (aka Mick Hucknall) was living in a box room council flat and boy was he firey back then. The resentment, love and sorrow he had for life is conveyed in every note sung on this album to a degree he never really was able to reproduce. Maybe it was the money. Ironic, since it was Moneys Too Tight To Mention that caterpaulted them to their peak. I love this album for not only its mood, not only his firey raw voice but also for the superb melody and music. The throbbing of the double bass, the jazzy piano solos, brass crescendos all brought together in the superb reverb drenched recording and engineering.

I have to say that, for a debut album, it's not bad - he's got a few really good tracks in here. Justin's Pop roots was pulled out then replaced with R&B and light hip-hop. Some of the songwriting is downright corny lyrically but several of the songs were well done by the Neptunes and Timbaland, they made this album more than Justin.

The ballads are not that great to me but the dance tracks are well done. The tracks that stand out to me are "Cry Me a River", "Rock Your Body", "Senorita", "Last Night", "Still On My Brain", "What You Got (Oh No)", and "Let's Take a Ride".

Another drawback to this album is Justin Timberlake vocal pitch. In almost every song that he performed and sang, I felt as though he was searching ... Read More:

Gabrielle will claim herself that she is nota soul singer as she simply doesn't possess the voice to be one.
But she is a good solid and consistant performer who has churned out some really nice tracks in the last 10 years.

I'm into Rnb/Soul/Hip Hop, but I have no problem saying that I own this really good set of songs.
Her music has never been groundbreaking, but has always been good.

"Dreams" is her signature track, and most people's favourite Gabrielle track. I know it is mine. Its her story. It what she is about. Its a perfect track and one which she will always be able to say is a "classic". This track will get played on radio in another 10 years time.

A classic album of the 80s was thriller. the classic album for the noughties is 8701. an amazing album. flawlessly put together and so memorable. this album has served as a soundtrack to a time in my life and to do that demonstrates the power of the album. amazing!!!

in my opinion this is the best of all the pink albums there is, "im not dead" is very good too, but this one is so cool and every single on of the songs is brilliant! pink is so cool!

I have a couple of Simply Red's CD's and so it's kind of easy to buy this "best of". It is one of my all-time favourites, and as a collection it can provide listening music, dance music, and quality background music all on the same disc. Let me just name the tracks I really like: "Holding Back The Years", great dancing music with "Money's Too Tight to Mention", "A New Flame", "You've Got It", "If You Don't Know Me By Now", "Stars", and "For Your Babies". Come on - 7 top tracks out of 15 - this just cries out to be one of my top-10 CD's.

This was certainly one of the best albums of the 90's. This edition features a superb live performance from Montreaux show of 1991. Worth getting it just for this DVD alone. Each musician takes turns to put on fantastic show.

`Music Box' was Mariah Carey's 3rd album, it was the last album of Carey's that did not include a single collaboration or guest, as well as being one of the biggest selling albums in music history, the only reason for this could be the 3 chart toping singles it produced, including the killer record breaking ballad `Hero', what also sold this album was the fact it had universal appeal, meaning you wouldn't have to be a huge Mariah Carey fan to own it, as you could appreciate it for it's more mainstream `pop' sound.
