My husband & I saw this show out of curiosity. Neither of us are huge Tolkien fans but found the combination of the video clips on the site & the thought of seeing an actor we both admire (Jerome Pradon) very appealing. We both loved it! The staging is nothing short of magical, the choreography inventive & exciting, the acrobatic skills worthy of Cirque du Soliel, not to mention acting of the highest caliber & music that moves you heart & soul. It's a feast for the eyes & marriage of beauty & darkness that is well captured in this addictive CD. This album is a fantastic mix of score from the shows and traditional folk songs of the period performed by Tams and his mate Barry Coope with an amazing guest performance from the wonderful Kate Rusby. A must have for all fans of John Tams, Kate Rusby, Sharpe and great British folk music!

I purchased these CDs individually as and when they were originally released. I have to say that the Fellowship of the Ring is my favourite, by the way. However, I also bought the extremely deluxe 4 disc (or in the case of ROTK, 5 disc) sets when the 'complete' scores were released (also worth buying, despite their price). One thing the 'complete' scores don't have is the first track from FOTR - "The Prophecy" (though parts of it exist in the 'complete' score). If you're a soundtrack enthusiast, then small variations or alternate takes presented here in the 'limited' 1-disc releases will interest you. It is true that classical guitar playing attracts only a limited range of people, but even if you only mildly enjoy or are the slightest bit interested in hearing works by famous guitar composers such as Rodrigo, Villa-Lobos or even Bach, then "The Only Guitar Album You'll Ever Need" won't fail to please you.

I really don't know why it's taken me so long to buy this album, this is without doubt Jon Bon Jovi's best solo CD.
I don't think that I can add anything new that the other reviewers havn't already said because this really is a brilliant album.
My favorite tracks are "Blaze Of Glory", "Billy Get Your Guns", "Dyin' Ain't Much Of A Living" and "Never Say Die".
Don't wait for as long as I did, buy this incrediable rock gem today!

Blade Runner Trilogy 25th Anniversary

The film is a stunning visual masterpiece. The Vangelis soundtrack is simply wonderful to listen to. It really does take you there. After watching the film again (Final cut edition). I found myself going back to parts of the film with the music that moved me. The mixture of piano and synths add power and sweetness to this film noir.
High lights for me was the opening theme as the spinner made it's a way across the city. The Love Theme is simply a beautiful piece of music which builds up nicely. Tear's in the rain, One Alone, and Fading away.

This soundtrack is certainly a popular one today but in my opinion, highly overrated. When I saw the movie, I thought that the hobbit music was a standout but remembered little else and the same is true for the CD. It excels in atmosphere and size but (apart from the hobbit music) has very little character; something that I feel is essential in a soundtrack of this sort. If you're hoping to hear the 'Ring Theme' (which is repeated over and over in the first film), it appears only once on the CD and the Nazgul music is a little dominating and repetitive for just one disc (even though the choir does send a nice shiver down the spine).
