Having just purchased Totally James Bond: The Essential 007 Themes, I was horrified to find that every track was a crappy cover version rather than the original theme played during the track.
I immediately got this CD out of my closet and enjoyed the James Bond as it was meant to sound! I would recommend this CD above all other ones of its type, even if it does lack the tracks for Goldeneye onwards.
Release Date October 01, 1999
I usually head to the blues section and search for the "labels" boxed sets. This purchase was by far the best purchase that I've made to date. I was simply stunned by the range of performers and material in this 2 Cd collection. I was familiar with most names on the CD but was blown away by the material simply because this is surely some of the best cuts made on the Alligator label. I consider this to be the best compilation selection that I have ever made !

Ah, memories of the Harp Bar, Terry's reggae disco and meeting Jake Burns for the first time in the Crown. The punk music of Norn Iron was by far some of the best, the times it grew up in meant that the bands put more effort and themselves into the music (how else could Alternative Ulster have contained so much genuine anger). But it never got the large scale release it deserved (except SLF and the 'tones of course). The A&R guys must have been scared.
Now, the wider world has the chance to finally hear what we knew and loved in those good old, bad old times - this is by far and away the best of the plethora of Punk single compilations flying about these days. You never heard of some of the other GB bands or singles at the time ... Read More:

I purchased the cassete in '85 but I lost it in '92, now I purchased a used CD. the sound quality is exceptional, and it's worth the high price that I paid. Stevie Wonder at his best vocal performance, Mike, Lionel, Steve Perry,.... I can't count all the 40 artists who sang We are the world!! Other tracks are wonderful too. My advice is to buy it before it becomes obsolete.

I bought this on the strength of the reviews here (and lets face it, it is damn cheap). It contains some good tracks and I guess it does live up to the title. I found the production somewhat dated and the drum and bass doesn't really rattle the speakers as I would expect. If you are looking for a better all round compilation, check out The Front Line box set which is still my favourite by far.

As country tribute albums became common in the nineties, it was no surprise to see one devoted to Lynyrd Skynyrd, perhaps the best of the southern rock bands that emerged in the seventies.
Least surprising of all is that Alabama (the group) chose to record Sweet home Alabama, a song that really encapsulates the appeal of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Hank Williams Junior contributed Tuesday’s gone, but while the other tracks here were recorded especially for this project, Hank’s track was simply lifted from his Wild streak album of the late eighties. Wynonna does a fine version of Free bird, while Charlie Daniels digs deeper into the Skynyrd repertoire to cover One more time – not one of their famous songs, but Charlie chose wisely. Read More:
