I'm amazed that this CD has only had one review, as this is a great compilation. To me this vol 3 along with vol 7 is the best of the cafe del mar series. Easy listening and a harmonious mix with some piano music a la cafe style, some light techno, a few dance tracks, some ambient and some jazzy tunes.

I just listened to this again and it is without doubt THE best compilation I ever heard, I can't believe it's actually so old. Not a weak link in there. Don't question, just get it. Awesome.

I must be getting old-I was well into this back in the day but found it a bit boring now. On the other hand I am increasingly into trance music...oh dear maybe I should see a doctor.

The KLF are best remembered for "What Time Is Love?" & their media pranks. This album is just a pure joy to listen to, recorded in a minimalist way. The music is almost background music to Drummond & Cauty's soundscape of rivers, trains, sheep, planes, cars, mad preachers, and everyday sounds that you hear but never takes notice of, but on this album you do. If you can't sleep at night, put this album on in the dark and you begin to imagine you are on a journey around distant lands. The KLF also used samples from Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, Acker Bilk, Jesus Loves You (aka Boy George). Some stripped down versions of some KLF classics are here too, although retitled, along with what has to be the most impressive track the KLF ever ... Read More:

Songs in the of X presents total of 15 chapters, 2 of which are TXF themes. The first track is Mark Snow's longer version of the theme and it's absolutely great! Though this is a soundtrack for The X-Files, all songs in the disc haven't appeared in the show. Nonetheless this includes very good songs, my personal favourites are Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' Red Right Hand, Soul Coughings Unmarked Helicopters, Sheryl Crows On The Outside, Foo Fighters' Down In The Park and Filters Thanks Bro. The real stinker is Star Me Kitten, I wonder why this song has been included to this CD. All others are quite good. Recommended.
