1990's Nobody's Child is the best charity album I have ever come across. The album was the brainchild of Barbara Bach, Olivia Harrison, Yoko Ono, and Linda McCartney, and the money it raised went to support the huge numbers of orphans in Romania. This album really never got the attention it deserved (and still deserves); not only is the cause a noble one, but the quality of the music included here is top-notch indeed.
I'll list the tracks and the artists that grace this incredible album.
Track 1: The Traveling Wilburys, Nobody's Child. This is an outstanding and little known Wilburys classic. Track 2: The always impressive Van Morrison, Wonderful Remark Track 3: Elton John, Medicine Man Track 4: Dave ... Read More:

Sixties group The Hollies named themselves after him and they open this set with a remix of Buddy’s original version of Peggy Sue got married. Modern recording technology is amazing, but I admit that I would have preferred the Hollies to do their own version rather than mix their vocals with Buddy’s.
The remaining recordings were all (as far as I know) completely new for this album and feature a mix of rock and country performers. Buddy’s former band, The Crickets, lend their support to Nanci Griffith on Well all right and to The Band on Not fade away.
My favorite track here is It doesn’t matter anymore, featuring outstanding guitar picking by Dave Edmunds and brilliant singing by Suzy Bogguss. Actually, ... Read More:

I just listened to this again and it is without doubt THE best compilation I ever heard, I can't believe it's actually so old. Not a weak link in there. Don't question, just get it. Awesome.

Overheard rhythms and vocal harmonies, confident and unaffected, recorded against the backdrop of the sounds of the rainforest. If you've OD'd on electric guitars, or the traffic, or the trash on TV, this is the antidote. You may have heard bits of this album sampled (the water drums crop up in trip hop for instance) but take the chance to hear the whole, clean and pure. An album that can bring tears to your eyes (and also enchants my wife's infants class).

I bought this album and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the music . Old type of good country music with a new twist .

This compilation stands frozen in time (like in an air bubble) in 1993, which was a wonderful year for electronic music. Around that time electronic artists were creating fantastic music, like Autechre, B12 and Black Dog on Warp, and The Orb elesewhere. It was a heyday, now sadly gone, but this compilation remains as a reminder of those times.
I usually don't like compilations, so it is a sign of this compilation's quality that I rate it so highly. There isn't a bad track on here. If you like Warp, or IDM, or electronica or have the barest liking of electronic music, you really need to own this CD.
The cover art is even magical, everything about this compilation has an air of quality and magic about it. They sure don't make them ... Read More:

When many people first think of Beavis and Butt-head, the first thing you think of is..... this sucks! and to be true, unless you hear this CD, you will think it sucks. Whenever you watch the program of MTV, they laugh at usually tat tunes, some that have never made the grade, but what you have here is "the best of B&B" With quality bands such as Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthrax and Aerosmith. Along with the cool rappings of Run DMC and sir mix-a-lot, you can't fail but see quality bursting from the casing. The interludes are classic if your a B&B fan, but can also be missed by the loathers by a quick fast forward. Furthermore, with a duet featuring Butt-head and Cher, bringing out laughs whoever you are, (as long as your ... Read More:

This is a very jaunty CD with a mix of some great Christmas party songs such as Jingle Bell Rock by Randy Travis and some more touching ones like O Holy Night by Tevin Campbell. They are performed by artists that you wouldn't necessarily expect to hear singing them and in some instances are all the better for that.
Standouts on this album for me include Christmas All Over Again by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers as well as Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree by Ronnie Spector and Darlene Love
