This is one the first albums that I can listen to completetly and say I love each and every song. I had to buy a second copy as I played my original too much that I became worn. This album was the perfect length for my drive from home to university each day. Can't wait for the next album to be released next month.
I don't usually review anything, but love this so much I had to...

Eliza is a huge talent- writing , playing and a voice like no other, but for me this CD seems to have lost the sound and emotion and subtlety that I love about much of her work.
Big sound, but unsatisfying , maybe less is more?

I saw the show in October, The Four Seasons were way behind my time but the show and this recording are what will bring the band's great music back and to younger generations. The soundtrack is one of the best cast recordings I have ever heard, I play my favourite songs from it everyday and dance around like a loon!
It has an amazing feel good factor to it, they sound a lot like The Four Seasons but there's a freshness about the music too which coming from a younger generation appeals to me more than the original recordings of Franki Valli and The Four Seasons.
Go and see the show, it's having amazing runs everywhere and I've just heard it's come to London, I'll be booking my ticket to see it there next time I go!

Grace Jones relativley short music career never really hit the heights of success it often deserved. Her first three disco albums, PORTFOLIO (1977), FAME (1978) and MUSE (1979) were fairly forgetable although they did spawn at least one memroable track per album - all of which make there way onto this definitive compilation of Grace Jones work. LA VIE EN ROSE, I NEED A MAN and DO OR DIE had that early Grace Jones disco sound which was quickly abandoned in 1980 prior to the release of one of her very best albums, WARM LEATHERETTE, which succesfully combined the sounds of New Wave, reggae, rock and funk. From the album was PRIVATE LIFE (a top 20 success in the U.K) which also is rightly included on this album as this by far is one of her greatest recordings. This ... Read More:

With its incessant piano hook and heart-felt lyrics, "Love Song" caught my attention immediately as one of the most impressive debut singles I've heard on pop radio. So is it true with the rest of "Little Voice" which demonstrates that Sara Bareilles has an incredibly bright future ahead as a compelling chanteuse of original piano-based pop rock music (I'd like to think of her as someone with the melodic richness of a Sarah McLaughlin coupled with the sarcastic, hip lyrics and excellent musical chord writing of a Randy Newman.). Her stylistic influences range all over the map, from the fusion jazz of "Vegas" to the soft rock pop of "Love Song". Lyrically and musically, her most impressive songs include the short, but quite delightful, "Fairytale" and the memorable ballad ... Read More:

Not sure how this ended up in my CD collection....the tunes are ok but my rule of thumb is, if you can sit back and replace the vocalist with Cliff Richard and it sounds plausible then leave it well alone, or alternatively, buy it for ya Mum for Christmas....That's no disrespect to Cliff, he has his well deserved army of 'tenna ladies' to keep the royalties coming in. These chaps however are 40 years younger, they should strive to be a bit more irresponsible!

Fantastic album Pacific Ocean Blue, just get it and listen to it, plus the bonus tracks and the additional lost album 'Bambu', all beautifully packaged, make this a worthy tribute to a flawed genius; Dennis Wilson.

I've never given the Foo Fighters the time or day, just never really got into them post Nirvana. Bought this album upon recommendation by a Foo fan. Upon first listen (whilst clearing out the garage) I knew there was something very important happening to me. Quite simply at that moment I became an instant Grohl/Foo fan. Having now backtracked on most of the Foo's catalogue from my own perspective, this is not only my favourite of theirs but quite possibly the most important 'rock' album in my CD collection and remains a permanent fixture in the car ! Love it Love it Love it. It's so good, I find it difficult to believe these aren't reworkings of old classics, but of course respect Dave Grohl's song writing abilities as well as his virtuoso performance abilities.

I got this before going to see Van Morrison Live at Symphony Hall. The CD made up for the lack of known songs sung by Van in his live performance. It was a strange affair, he did not speak to the audience and performed a very self indulgant show. However I can't fault the CD it is great.
