I watched this dvd over the weekend, and was a little dissapointed.
I have to agree with some of the points by another review by Stilts.
I just wish Avril drops this whole pink bubblegum look, and go back to what made her famous in the first place. I just cannot help but wonder who she really wants to be. The punk/rock chick we all fell in love with back with her first album, or a pink teen pop princess. If you are the latter, you would love this dvd.
Don't get me wrong, she still rocks! and I still like her, I am just not one for this whole pink pop thing. For one thing - she lost her male audience. Clearly seen in this dvd.
Right after I watched this, I watched the "My world" dvd, and was amazed at ... Read More:

Eurythmics made some of the greatest sounds of the 1980 in many genres, not just the standard synth-pop. Lennox & Stuart also made a major contribution in the forgotten band The Tourists before the birth of Eurythmics. Unfortunately this album contains too many tracks already available on Greatest Hits.
Some less inspired songs from the 1990s have been added. This really shows a lack of interest and imagination in view of the huge treasure trove of classic album tracks. The compilers could have chosen The Last Time from Revenge, Jennifer from Sweet Dreams, Shame & Beethoven (I Love to Listen to) from Savage, When the Day Comes Down from We Too Are One and Belinda & She's Invisible Now from the obscure first album In the ... The original `Pure' album was released in 2003, and despite there now being a confusing number of variations of it (special edition, import, bonus tracks & bonus discs) there are basically two editions - the original single disc and this 2CD Special Edition which adds a bonus disc to the original one.
The songs are a mixture of classical, popular and traditional, with some highly original and unexpected choices such as `River of Dreams' which is a transcription of Vivaldi's lovely violin solo 'largo' from `The Four Seasons', and a powerful recording of `Benedictus' from the Karl Jenkins' album `The Armed Man - A Mass for Peace'.
The New Zealand traditionals, predictably chosen because of Hayley's origin from ... Read More:

You can't go wrong with Bruce Springsteen's entire catalogue, and seeing as how most are on a very low price you could pick them at random and still have a lot of nice surprises (but maybe not the Lucky Town era). This compilation is an interesting mix of tracks, but it barely scratches the surface particularly of the pre Born In The USA time and centres too much on the ones since then. There's practically nothing from Greetings, The Wild, Nebraska and Darkness, the huge amount of live tracks are also overlooked, so I think this is aimed more at the very casual listener who isn't concerned what great album tracks they're missing. Sadly only Born In The USA and one track off Born To Run get all the attention on the radio, so I say to anyone you should ... Read More:

In my opinion, this is one of the greatest albums ever recorded. I first heard it in 1972 (after Starman had got into the charts) and never looked back - been a bowie fan ever since. Bowie's best album still. It contains classics such as Moonage Daydream and Suffragette City and the Spiders never sounded better. Every track is superb, even the oddly sounding 'It ain't easy' penned by Ron Davies (surely not the same Ron Davies who played for Southampton?. It also seems to have a very intimate feel to it, i.e. the production is so clear its almost like being in the studio with the musicians.
Says on the album sleeve 'To be played at maximum volume'- indeed it should, all across the land!

This was once my favorite band, they had good music, and very good songs. This album comes out, with the hope it is going to be something reminiscent of the good old Westlife, but NO. This is not the kind of music you would hope for from WL: repetitive at some points, nothing original, you hear it and you get the feeling of 'been there, done that', totally forgettable. Listened to it twice, then that's it. Have the boys lost their inspiration??? Do not know, but if things that are original, new, and different start come up, then that might not be in their favor on the long run. Backstreet Boys, had a much stronger return with their latest album, now that was original and ten times better than this album.

It would be easy to dismiss this album as nothing more than a homage to Sixties British Pop. OK, so there are some obvious influences, most noteably, the Kinks, the Stones & the Who and there is an unmistakeble 60s retro feel to the whole album but the standard of the songs is exceptionally high and they still manage to maintain that distinctive Green Day sound. Indeed they should be applauded for rather than taking the easy route and following up the multi-selling very polished American Idiot album with a carbon copy they have gone for a more basic back to their roots approach in true punk rock style.

Just check out the clean guzzling bass line on Muscle Museum. The song sets up the perfect suburbian distopia and turns into nothing short of the perfect pop rock single when Matt's voice melts into a suspended guitar solo.
Elsewhere theres the title track Showbiz, an epic of enclosing tension and Cave a similar epic flooding with teenage anxt.
The back end of this record reveals more wonderfully rounded heavy yet alternative rock songs. The lyrics are spot on all the way through especially in Escape and Overdue.
Theres a lush little acoustic ballad too in Unintended, so good they still sing it on tour.
This is where Muse started off, with a CD just as good as all the others, sure the songs might not be as well known ... Read More:
