This album is awful. Terrible vocals, terrible songs, so-so backing - you begin to get the idea. This is a record that is completely lacking in charisma and imagination. Put it this way if he was still in the army they would have had him put him against the wall and shot!

If you are a massive fan of their old sound, of the Nu metal, then you should definitely avoid this album. If you are a music fan with an open mind then you should definitely purchase this. The sound that they have created is incredibly different. I really don't know why they changed that much. Once I like a band's sound I really don't like it when they try and reinvent themselves to change that, and that's exactly what Linkin Park have done here. I bought Meteora as my first Linkin Park album back in 2003 and I instantly loved it. The sound of the music was so unique, and to a 13 year old, pretty surprising as well. On the front of this album is a sticker which proclaims 'this band will change your life'. Hmmmm. Not really though will they. Not in a Stones, Beatles, Dylan, Hendrix, Stone Roses, Smiths, Oasis kind of way. Typical Radio 1/NME hyperbole. This band is average at best. I wanted to like it but couldn't bring myself to. Now, I'm a sucker for long hair and beards on any rock band, that coupled with all the hype and the fact that I had some spare HMV vouchers to burn I thought I'd give this a try. I put the cd in with great expectation. It would be churlish to criticize "Greatest Hits", as it's the classic compilation, and the best possible 40-odd minute introduction to the duo's work. On the face of it, everything's here. Plus this is an of-the-time release, one you or your parents probably owned way-back-when, and even the cover can bring on pangs of nostalgia. It's still a superb listen and, even if like me you own all the original albums, it's something that is always first to get in the player. Sometimes I don't even stop it before "Cecilia" -- and not just because I'm not quick enough having been lulled into a pleasurable stupor by the "Bookends" coda.

The Beatles. A band that are so familiar to everyone in the western world that it's easily possible to live 25-30 years without hearing one of their albums from start to finish. You just hear it everywhere. But that's just the thing; you always hear the same songs - essentially, the ones from the Red and Blue albums.

This is a wonderful compliation which covers different eras of Fleetwood Mac's musical development, and with that comes some very different sounds to their music.

I love it more everytime I listen to it!!

You've Got A Friend: The Best Of James Taylor

I bought this album on the strength of the song You've Got A Friend, having thought there must be more to his brilliance than just this one song. I wasn't wrong. When I heard this album, there were many songs I already knew...I just did not know, for some reason, that James Taylor was behind them.

Overall, this has been a brilliant re-introduction and introduction to the best of James Taylor's music. It's very easy to listen to and to relax to, despite being moving and having lyrics which make you think.

My personal favourite tracks are: Fire And Rain, You've Got A Friend, Handyman, Shower The People, although most people know Carolina In My Mind and Something In The Way She Moves. There are no bad, weak or unworthy tracks on this compilation, and there ... Read More:
