Izzy Stradlin was the main songwriting force behind Guns n Roses, particularly in the Appetite days, but never seems to get noticed. Even if you know GN'R well you may not know that Izzy has 9 solo albums available (including Ju Ju Hounds). Five are available on amazon and the other four are available to download. They are in more of a rock n roll style than the heavy metal of GN'R but there are some great songs to be found and the usual excellent guitar work is always present. Do yourself a favour and check them out.

I am not a massive Talking Heads fan, but I love 'Remain in Light' and got this Best-of as well to sample all of their other albums at once. However, I am suspicious that this is not a truely representative selection because the three songs from 'Remain in Light' have been so poorly selected. Surely 'Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)' and 'Crosseyed And Painless' - absolutely monster tracks - should have taken precedence over the comparatively low-key 'Houses in Motion' and 'This Must be the Place'. Of course, 'Once in a Lifetime' is a shoe-in and appears here in all its glory. Nevertheless, it is poor decisions like this that can make a novice survey the career of a great band ... Read More:

This is a collection of b-sides and rarities - it says so on the cover, so don't expecting anything more (as some reviewers obviously have). As such, it is a fairly uneven collection, and some tracks are.. well... b-side standard. However, there are enough gems on here to justify buying the CD, such as covers of Dire Straits' "Romeo and Juliet" and Kenny Rogers' "Ruby" and a re-worked version of Sam's Town.
In short, if you are thinking of buying your first Killers CD, don't go for this one - go for Hot Fuss or Sam's Town - both excellent albums in my opinion. If you already have & enjoy those albums, you should enjoy this album, for the "gems" and to complete your Killers collection.

Fantastic soundtrack. As a writer looking for inspiration for film music, this has to be one of my absolute favourites. Buy it now!

i grew up in the next village to these boys and their first album is annd always will be,there on my top five must haves. like so many othere one-hit wonders, they have proved over the years that they peaked with the first absolutely magic album , and then the rot set in. this album no longer is filled with creative lyrics and must listen to riffs, other than bartender and takes clothes off. this is just dross and fluff for fans who know no better to listen to and pretend they love it. sorry boys , its time to let it go now before the real damage to your reputations is done.

Having heard "Just for Tonight" and loving the anthemic sound many reviewers have mentioned before me, I decided to dive in and try the album. I listened with high hopes and really wanted to like it...but unfortunately it failed to impress. I gave it a few more listens but all that did was reiterate to me how samey and unoriginal the tracks sound.
The singles "You and Me" and "It's About Time" are catchy but the rest just sort of blends into one big blur. For me, the songs just lack the energy and spark of their first single and I can never really distinguish between them. The lyrics are also quite uninspiring.
I suppose it's a nice listen but this album just doesn't have quality songs that I'd listen to time and time again.

Once you've put any personal feelings towards Britney aside, and actually listen to the music, you're almost certain to find that this album is a milestone in her career, being some of her finest work to date. Without the image of the messy music video, 'Gimme More', the lead single, presents itself as a catchy Pop anthem, with an infectious hook, and the same could be said for 'Piece of Me' among others. There is also a new sound created for Britney on this record, in the song 'Heaven on Earth.' It would certainly be a radio smash, and is one of my personal favourites throughout all of her back catologue. It's a shame that come people can't see past her personal life. However, it seems that this will no longer be an excuse in the future, as her life is getting back on track, ... Read More:

I've got a lot to thank Jools Holland for, as I first saw Brandi on one of his "Later with Jools" shows. I have to say that I was blown away by the sound and the performance, so much so that I bought this album straight away without reading any reviews, which is unusual for me.
Having read some of the reviews before writing this, I realise there are some very eloquent writers out there who know what they are talking about. Therefore my advice to any readers of this review is to only look at the review rated 4 or 5 stars. I have played some of this album to some of my friends and they have gone out and bought it as well.
There are so many outstanding lyrics in this album that I wouldn't know where to start my preferences, so I will leave you to decide. ... Read More:

If you are aware of Jamiroquai you will know them for their infectious grooves and funky acid jazz, and if you don't, then this is the best place for your first taste of what they have to offer. Spanning all their albums to date, this album has a greats selection of tracks. From the didgeridoo enhanced 'When You Gonna Learn' to the exuberance of 'Virtual Insanity', as soon as you put this CD on you will start to move, tap your feet and grin and you won't stop until the last track. This has such gems as 'Canned Heat' that never fails to get me up and dancing, to 'Little L' which has much the same effect! This also has more laid back tracks such as 'Seven Days in Sunny June' from the latest album, 'Dynamite' and extra tracks for this collection, my favourite being 'Runaway'. Overall ... Read More:
