This album features the greatest song ever written or recorded "LOVE WILL TEAR US APART` - The rest of the songs are OK - but `Love Will Tear Us Apart` is a timeless classic, a work of art that I play about 30 times every day...it is playing now as I write this.
The vocal performance of the late great Ian Curtis is pure pop pefection...I want this song played at my funeral along with "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinead O`Connor and "My Death" by DAVID BOWIE.
Those three songs are better than any tonic, more moving then any hymn or national anthem and give more of a buzz than any drug.
If you dont like Joy Division or New Order - still BUY this album because "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is a reason for living...

i like this compilation as it contains most of pink floyd's classics. i'm not a big fan of them but my favorite songs are the two 1980s hits learning to fly and sorrow. then comes another brick in the wall, money, wish you were here and shine on you crazy diamond which i like better on the wish you were here album. but for classic rock fans, this is a must have!

Black Sabbath's most famous album with some amazing songs which are War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man(I Am Iron Man) & Fairies Wear Boots (best song on the album?). The rest of the album sadly took awhile to grow on me but when they do you start to notic some cool tracks like Hand Of Doom & Electric Funeral. Overall a brilliant album some wicked songs on but their debut album is so much better. So i suggest buy that first if you dont ave any Sabbath albums buy their Self titled debut album Black Sabbath that's mindblowing. BLACK SABBATH ROCK!!!!!!!

So many US bands deliver not-too-bad yet easily forgettable emo-albums these days. So I didn't expect all that much from Paramore after buying this on the strength of their excellent 'Misery business'. How wrong I was.
Opener 'For a Pessimist' sets the tone for the entire album: a blistering rocker with a catchy chorus. And the pace never lets off from there. Crushcrushcrush and That's What You Get are two more standouts, but the band sounds very accomplished in mid-tempo songs like When it Rains and We Are Broken as well. Singer Hayley Williams is first class - the way she holds her longer notes could teach many of her collegues a thing or two (are you payin' attention, Mariah Carey??).
All of Riot!'s eleven excellent tracks were composed by the ... Read More:

So I've just moved home and my record collection is in complete disaray.
I want to listen to something before going on a big (and I mean big) night out but I can't find anything
Then I see this. I haven't listened to this for years. In fact I'm not sure I've lisened to it since I got it from a charity shop (where most of my vinyl comes from) about eight years ago.
It sounds wonderful. If you have this record I suggest that you put it on now.
Nothing needs to be said about Grace Jones, a woman whose image eventually overcame the music until all most people can remember is her attacking Russell Harty.
The music, however, is a dark slinky gem.
It undeniably pop. Sly and Robbie owe nothing to anybody and have worked on enough 'creditable' records in their time. ... Read More:

Ive just purchased my third copy of this album (kept getting scratched in my car stereo) and i would buy it again and again. Every song from beginning to end is beautifully written, and executed. This clearly is a must have album

soaring, searing, the voices of angels. I just got this one. I know it's been out a while. But i love it. Incredible vocal clarity and clever arrangements. I'm really looking forward to listening to this over the next few weeks whilst my kids are away at school. Perfect!

On the front of this album is a sticker which proclaims 'this band will change your life'. Hmmmm. Not really though will they. Not in a Stones, Beatles, Dylan, Hendrix, Stone Roses, Smiths, Oasis kind of way. Typical Radio 1/NME hyperbole. This band is average at best. I wanted to like it but couldn't bring myself to. Now, I'm a sucker for long hair and beards on any rock band, that coupled with all the hype and the fact that I had some spare HMV vouchers to burn I thought I'd give this a try. I put the cd in with great expectation. The first song started up, with it's sudden bursts of guitar seemingly out of no where, I actually thought the cd was skipping because it seemed to go on forever. Not a good start. I excused that first faux pas and moved swiftly on, only to find that I had stumbled across a hard rock band, ... Read More:

I hadn't heard anything by them until ITV used the track 'Welcome to the Black Parade' during the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix. I didn't know who it was by but was instantly hooked. A few mouse clicks later and I'd found out the artist and had ordered the album.
I received it today and couldn't wait to play it. Absolutely fantastic! The only problem (!) is that I'm now going to have to buy the rest of the albums. It's such a long time since I've heard music that immediately grabs my attention.
Worth every penny. Highly recommended if you like 'proper' music.
