This CD caught my eye sitting on a shelf as it has such a beautiful album sleeve. I picked it up purely because it looked good, bought it because of the nice cover. Now from past exerience I can say that impulse buys like this are generally regrettable, but I have not stopped listening to this CD since I got it.
Easily my album of the year, it has everything and spans across so many types of moods and genres. It has the amazing ability to chill you out, get you worked up, uplift you and break your heart all at the same time.
Now im generally not a fan of chillout music, I can't concentrate long enough and get bored! Enigma however, bring such variety to the music and these albums are so brilliantly written and put together ... Read More:

By 1982, Tangerine Dream had restored their reputation somewhat with this line up of Edgar Froese, Chris Franke and Johannes Schmoelling. They had recorded two successful albums with 'Tangram' and 'Exit'. They had also enjoyed another well received soundtrack album, this time for the Michael Mann directed, James Caan starring heist movie, 'Thief'. Tangerine Dream were back in big demand.
'White Eagle' showed the band returning to their old experimental ways.
The album opens with a twenty minute epic, 'Mojave Plan'. It's a fantastic piece, split into three or four different sections with a driving rhythm throughout the track, giving it an almost industrial, machine like feel. It also conjures up mental images of travelling through otherworldly, ... Read More:

this is pretty much what you would expect from two masters of the ambient and ethereal. Budd's distinctive and minimalist melodic piano resonates through layers of synths and treated guitars. It's very well executed and sounds better with each listening. Hard to fault really.

this album is just breath taking, especially 'for want of' after that track i was left speachless it is just so powerful, that track alone will put many other bands that claim to be emo to shame. The whole album is a work of art, with brilliant lyrics, pretty heavy music and vocals that somehow tie everything together to make this. brilliant album that really needs to be heard be everyone

If you are a 'Religious' Armin fan like I am, it is of no surprise that this is yet another example of pure genius!! My only gripe is that, seeing a new album bearing the Universal Religion title alongside a 2008, I snapped it up instantly only to find that this is the exact same album as Universal Religion Vol. 3 Doh!! Oh hang on! its a slightly darker brown sleeve!! I'm so stupid!! der! I suppose its my fault for not checkin out the track list in my excitement! Be very careful not to make the same mistake as I did!!! Very naughty of them to re-package 2007's mix into a 2008 title!! hmmm........That aside the guy is a legend!! and the mix totally kicks A**!! 5 stars for that but only 3 for lulling customers into buying with a new sleeve!! TUT TUT Ultrarecords!!!!

As a long time fan of Biosphere's Patashnik and Microgravity I found this a real return to form.I love those albums and still play them today and although Substrata and Cirque are a little too ambient for me (maybe because back in the late '70's/early 80's I owned all of Eno's Ambient albums),I still like them a lot even though I miss the samples (we had a dream last night, we had the same dream) and beats of the first two albums.Because I knew he'd stayed on the ambient path I kind of lost interest in him for a while, but then for some reason I had a bit of a Biosphere day and after listening to the aforementioned 4 cds and Man With A Movie Camera I decided to take a chance on Dropsonde. I'm glad I did. For once the uniformly good reviews on here are right on the money, because ... Read More:
