when i first heard this album i heard nothing that moved me particularly. but i kept being drawn back to it and during a long work based journey it suddenly made beatiful sense. garagey, bluesey, rock n roll for the masses! from the rockin' sweet n sour to the quiet-loud dynamics of she said. brilliant album from a quality band.

this rates just under the sublime "now i got worry" but still a great cd.

Disappointing forth album from one of America's top bands!
It doesn't compare to the brilliance of the bands first three albums- maybe they are going through a bad patch?

i hope their next album will be a return to form- they haven't really changed direction- this cd just seems the same as all those other rock/pop acts out their. Such a shame!

If you are going through some sort of a break up- this album is for you! If you are a diehard fan of the band- this album is for you! To everyone else try any of their other albums- if you don't already own them and then something new..........

Being too young to remember the original Counting Crows boom in the Nineties, I approached this album with some trepidation, unsure what to expect. And it blew me away.

It opens with Angels of the Silences, a very loud, powerful rock track (and not one of my favourites - I prefer the more acoustic version on Across a Wire). It moves straight on to Round Here, a track which took a while to grow on me, but when it did, it became one of my all time favourite songs, and remains so.

Rain King is fairly upbeat and cheerful, and A Long December is slightly more wistful, whilst Hanginaround is more of a swing record - all three pretty good, if slightly unremarkable.

Some old Bullshit... it's not however as the title may suggest. B side tracks that show a wierder side to the Beasties. The opening track Egg Raid on Mojo chronicals the story of an evil downtown bouncer named Mojo; other tracks are just as strange. If you're a Beastie's Fan then snap this up, but if you are new to the Beasties, then listen to some of their A-sides as opposed to their B-sides, or you may regret to reject the Boys from Brooklyn which would be a shame.

This album was the 3rd album from the offspring. Ignition was great but didn't get as popular. But as soon as the videos for 'Come Out and Play(Keep 'Em Seperated)' 'Self Esteem' and 'Gotta Get Away' were released they hit big time.
Then Ixnay was amazing. The First 4 Albums were the best and i can't choose between them.
I love the later albums too but they could have done so much better on Conspiracy Of One. Which if i had to choose would be my worst album.
But anything by the offspring is first class and i love them all.

I know, The 60's flower-power band The Seeds coined the term "Web of Sound", but it seems more apt when one is discussing the Bardo Pond. Actually, this full album is called "Amanita" and not "High Frequencies". It is, like most Pond albums, full of intense fuzzy soundscapes that swirl and crunch, yet underneath it all have the most gorgeous melody that only the Pond are capable of creating. Layer upon layer of guitar, flute,and drums create some of the most PSONIC Psychedelia I have heard from a contemporary band. The influences are there: 60's psychedelia, Crazy Horse, and of course Sonic Youth.

I bought this after reading the reviews on Amazon, because to be honest i have never heard of the guy. Also, i heard that his music inspired James Blunt, though God only knows how!!!!
The front cover shows two people jumping off a tall building, and that is exactly how i feel after listening to it, it is so depressing. Maybe i am not on the same medicine as some of the reviewers on here.
Obviously, opinions are like ars*e holes, everybody has one, but how anyone can say this music is beautiful, meaningful, haunting etc......is beyond me, and compared with James Blunt, there is no comparison..............end of story.

This song has the capability to make anyone and everyone cry. The lyrics of everyone hurts hold all the knowledge there is in the world to make you feel so much happier. It is so moving! In the last series of Holby City (a BBC1 medical drama) there was a wonderful man who had lost touch with all his family, and had been given twenty-four hours to live, and it was he only wish to die to this song. Its was the most moving scene ever shown on television and it was this song that made it that way. How could anyone not see this as the most fantastic song in the world?
