First of all: how amazing are these Rhino reissues of the Ramones' albums? I mean this one has more bonus tracks than original album tracks! Fantastic value, as the Ramones' albums on their own were very short. These reissues use the original album covers, come in slipcases, and the booklets all contain lots of contemporary pictures of the band, and excellent new sleevenotes (by different people for each album), and also print the lyrics! They're the best!
The bonus tracks on this album are a (complete, I assume) Ramones live performance at the ROXY from December 1976, with songs from the (fantastic) first album as well as from the second album itself. Joey introduces most songs with such comments as "This is for all you salsa fans" (Havana ... Read More:

This is a curious album, almost like an amalgamation of punk, grunge and industrial rock, before either of the last two even existed as a genre. The sound of the album is overpowering, like being hit by a wall of sound. Judging by the lyrics on this album, that was probably intentional. Doris Day this ain't.
With song titles like 'He's A Whore' and 'Pavement Saw', you get the general idea. The concepts thrown about here are generally nasty and nihilistic, but powerfully so. The vocalist almost sounds derranged sometimes, but again, this is quite impressive. There is no real pretension about this band, and although the album has a disturbing sound, it is not done in an attention-seeking, hollow, Marilyn Manson, 'shock-rock' kind of way. It's ... I have over the years listenened to most (if not all) of the so called 'best albums ever made' and there is no doubt in my mind this is the one. Rock 'n'roll in its purest incarnation. Please, if you love guitar rock 'n' roll trust me and buy this album and, if you don't agree, I'll give you your money back (actually the last bit is c**p but you get the idea.)

Hey y'all meat pup's fans,
This was the first Pup's album i bought and i NEVER lived to regret it. Bought like many puppets fans after hearing unplugged. I was blown away by those famous three tracks, escpicially Plateau and Lake Of Fire. A lonely guy named Kurt loved this album, and so should you.
It gave a nice base for them to build on after the frankly dismal 'Meat Puppets (I)' album. If you want punk there's nothing wrong with MP I. However, if you want sweet calm chill music with a splatter of psycadelica, MP II is gonna be your first MP album of many.
Categorising MP II is impossible, as it clearly comes from many influences. However, Kurt Kirkwood (Meat Puppets leading man) described them as "world beat" and i think that kinda ... Read More:

It is truly heartwarming to read other reviews posted here raving about Clutch, my favourite band. So often overlooked in rock circles, they are a truly original band that follow no fashions or treads. With Clutch its all about the music. And the lyrics. But more about that later.
When talking about the greatest album opener in rock history, obvious choices might be Nevermind's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' or Master of Puppets' 'Battery' etc, etc. Wrong! Its 'Mercury' from Blast Tyrant. The thundering arrangement of drums and riffs buzzes around my head on a daily basis. Its everything rock music should be, and encapsulates Blast Tyrant in its tight few minutes: crisp production, booming yet expressive drumming, groove-laden bass, tight riff orientated guitar, distinctive ... Embarassing. Limp. Like a wet lettuce.etc. This is supposed to be punk? If you think I'm being too harsh have a look at the video of this lot doing "Blitzkrieg Rock" on YOUTUBE. The punters at the front are sitting at tables, probably eating chicken in a basket. Compare them to Sex Pistols videos, who's sitting down watching The Pistols?? Ever seen a table at Sex Pistols gig? The Ramones were cabaret pussies.

Des chansons telles que "Could you be the one", "Friend, you've got to fall", "Bed of nails", "She's a woman and now he is a man" ou "Up in the air" resteront à jamais dans nos mémoires et au panthéon du rock. Suite à ce bijou, le groupe s'est séparé mais son leader Bob Mould en profita pour entamer une remarquable carrière solo qui dure encore aujourd'hui. Son dernier ... Read More:

This is my favourite nirvana album, I first heard it when I was 11, I'm now 27! I had previously heard Nevermind and fell in love with Lithium, so I had to discover their earlier work. As often is the case I love the earlier albums most, they seem to be more honest, and with Bleach, Nirvana were at their rawest and grungiest.
This album is raw and aggressive, but also catchy and makes you wanna get up and go mad! No one track really stands out as the whole album flows well, mixing pop/rock (About a girl/Negative creep) with slow grungier tracks (paper cuts/sifting). 5/5

Fashion Nugget is full of songs that will make you want to smile and to sing-a-long. It's clever, fun and querky, blending a range of styles from disco (Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive), to easy listing (Doris Day - Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps) to a little bit of country (Sad Songs and Waltzes) and light-hearted guitar-pop (Stick Shifts & Safety Belts, Italian Leather Sofa) into an inventive and entertaining pop album.
