This album represents the original and almost complete tapes of the Arkestra's 1972 appearance at the Ann Arbor Jazz and Blues festival. There was a huge 12000 string crowd for the first night and when the then obscure Arkestra came on at the end of the first night the crowd clearly took to them as enthusiastic crowd noise is evident throughout the performance. The Arkestra played the next two years as well. The album kicks off with a rendition of Enlightenment, which was originally a Ward Dotson instrumental (on Jazz in Silhouette) before Ra added vocals and made it an Arkestra anthem best heard on Maeght Nights V1.
