Seriously, can't rate this highly enough. It's just not like anything else I've heard for years. Young, noisy, angry stuff; and very very musical. Just great. Buy it. If you don't like it, you're wrong.
Release Date November 01, 2004
Having bought this album after hearing it playing in the hairdressers (!), I was not dissappointed. There are so many songs I recognised that I didn't even realise were Groove Armada's and there's a real mix of chill out songs along with dance/pop, so whatever mood you're in this album will give you a lift! I don't think this album will ever sound out-dated, it's great!

I was outraged - simply outraged - to discover that this band were named after Linda Kasabian, one of the murderers of Sharon Tate, and member of the Manson family. How dare these northern tykes pay tribute to someone of her monstrous calibre? They should be ashamed of themselves, and their parents, and their parents' parents.
I ask you, what is next? I bet some band will even name themselves 'Manson', and I also bet they'll be so uneducated that they can't even spell the word. Give me clean, wholesome bands like the Beach Boys any day, especially that delightful 20/20 album.

For me his best album will always be Vorsprung Dyk Technic just because I had never heard anything so banging and yet beautifully trancey and melodic at that time. Feeling that he had slightly gone off the boil recently and been surpassed by the likes of Armin and Above & Beyond, this album came as a pleasant surprise. Trance has moved on and so has PVD since the halcyon days of Vorsprung D Technic and Politics of Dancing 1&2 etc and this album has some great tracks.
CD1 is more downtempo with some elctro and deeper, hypnotic and melodic tunes, but still great tracks, the influence of Dj/producers such as Deadmau5 and Kyau&Albert on trance can't be denied and is evident in the track selection.
CD2 is full on trance, but just not ... Read More:

I think some of the less favourable reviews have missed the point somewhat. I can't believe anyone bought this album having heard the singles and actually expected something serious, but there you go. Takes all sorts I spose.
Like The Mighty Boosh, Calvin Harris somehow manages to pull off the difficult trick of being very silly and very cool at the same time. That's what you're getting here, nothing more and nothing less. Dance snobs had best look elsewhere.
Release Date March 12, 2007
What an opener - listen to 'Get Innocuous' as loud as you can! And the album keeps the standard up throughout - 'Us v them' being another pinnacle. A classic.

Like many of the other reviewers, I bought this because I'd heard so much about the band. At a first listening I felt it had potential, though it didn't immediately grab me. After several more listenings I have decided it's actually a touch on the pretntious side, not to mention a little dull. Very disappointing.

SMD have made a great album which has enough quality to place it alongside Daft Punk. Some tracks are immediately accessible such as the sublime 'I Believe' and the more in-your-face 'Hustler'. Other tracks are definite growers, such as 'Sleep Deprivation', 'It's The Beat' and 'I Got This Down'.
A lot of this album can be mistakenly dismissed on the first few listens, as it somehow sounds too simple and musically basic, however, the undelying quality shines through and you begin to appreciate the effort gone into creating this album. It's very listenable and suitable for both at home on a decent hi-fi (unlike the over-rated one trick pony that is the Justice album) or equally in a music orientated venue, and has a nice mix of vocal and non vocal tracks.
