Many Panic! fans and haters are dismissing this as something they did not expect from the band that released "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" 3 years ago.

I was a fan of old Panic! and am now a massive fan of new Panic too. This album has a beautiful sound and atmosphere to it.

This album definitely has influences from The Beatles. I doubt many teens are listening to The Beatles, so this is a really nice way of introducing it to people today.

This is definitely a very brave direction for Panic to take, I think they deserve a lot more respect for such a massive change in their sound, and I love it.

god knows what the scream were thinking when they made "beautiful future"; this album is so blatantly commercial, it could make you scream (pun intended).

I miss everything that this band ever stood for - and I say this with about 13 or so years hindsight: there`s no urgency here, no irony, nothing...not even real sleaze...it`s simply utterly boring.

in a nutshell, primal scream have obviously run out of ideas: this might well be their last shot at chart success - and the scream`s motivation for targeting the kiddie market. mark my words, it`s not gonna work.

therefore, avoid this one like the pest; and hope for better days...maybe.

beautiful future? not.

Potential....a word written about various England sportsman..a gloriously English way to bury young talent...enough about sport....this is the Mystery Jets review!!!

After the chaotic sixties prog of their debut LP this is a major suprise,eighties synths,whip cracking snares and slap-bass tumble from the speakers alongside distorted piano chords....are the magpies at play??

But it works....again, these guys have the potential to be the best band on this island....,the melodies are strong enough to smother the smell of some opportunist musical snatch n grabs.

To be honest, I did not think much of "Who Killed..." A couple of catchy pop tunes, for sure, but it was "bubble gum" music for the most part. This album remains true to the band's sense of having fun with their music, but it has a much more confident sound and the production is much improved. Touring the States with The Killers also seems to have rubbed off on how the band now sounds. Moreover, to their credit, the record again romps home in just over 40 minutes.

The themes are varied and frequently concern the more mundane aspects of life - the stress of taking public transport to work ("Tired of Hanging Around"), why good nights out always end in miserable hangovers the next day ("It's the Little Things We Do"), or getting over a relationship ("How Does ... This album is undoubtedly a cut above the unnecessarily huge number of indie pop albums being churned out at the moment. The songs are instant hits with catchy melodies and energetic music to back them up. After a few listens though, and a massive amount of radio airplay, what remains is a collection of tunes you're a little bit sick of.

The standout tune for me is Creepin' Up The Backstairs, the only track inventive enough to keep me wanting to listen weeks after I bought the album.

This album is awful. Terrible vocals, terrible songs, so-so backing - you begin to get the idea. This is a record that is completely lacking in charisma and imagination. Put it this way if he was still in the army they would have had him put him against the wall and shot!

As with Gorillaz and Gnarls Barkley recently, mid-way into the `noughties' we are starting to see some real wit and invention in pop music that may come to define the decade. `The Warning' finds them putting heart and soul into their curious mish-mash of folk whimsy, house and electronica. For all the sonics and low-fi trickery, and the comedy lyrics, there is beauty and genuinity shining throughout. Having heard "Just for Tonight" and loving the anthemic sound many reviewers have mentioned before me, I decided to dive in and try the album. I listened with high hopes and really wanted to like it...but unfortunately it failed to impress. I gave it a few more listens but all that did was reiterate to me how samey and unoriginal the tracks sound.

The singles "You and Me" and "It's About Time" are catchy but the rest just sort of blends into one big blur. For me, the songs just lack the energy and spark of their first single and I can never really distinguish between them. The lyrics are also quite uninspiring.

I suppose it's a nice listen but this album just doesn't have quality songs that I'd listen to time and time again.

First things first, there are already two Joy Division compilations out there, Substance which personally i think omits too many essential JD tracks, and Permanent which i think is a great introduction to the band but scandalously leaves out "Digital".
Well this album has "Digital" and most of the songs a casual listener would want but it is worth noting that two key tracks "She's Lost Control" and the timeless classic "Love Will Tear Us Apart" appear on here in the less familar alternative versions which are longer but less catchy (to my ears at least!).
A big selling point is the extra cd containing two complete Peel Sessions, each of 4 tracks, plus 2 songs recorded for Something Else and an interview with Ian Curtis and Stephen Morris.
